If I got 100k (whatever) out of an LCA I wouldn't be upset.

That said if OEM is $$$$ compared to others, that's a factor too.

 

Huge difference in price. About $100- $150 per side or oem at $300+ but still way cheaper than dk and some others.

 

I'd rebuild stock lowers if they aren't too rusty

 

They aren't rusty but I don't have an extra vehicle so no dow. Time preferred

 

I need to replace my lower bushings too. Already have the Whiltelines and new bolts, just missing desire and motivation. Need a LCA mod day!

 

Gotcha. They aren't bad to do but definitely more time consuming than buying loaded arms.

Loaded arms and new eccentrics/cams all around would be best then

 

Another option is to get a set of used ones, rebuild them first and then replace the originals in one day.

Once your done you could sell your original set to recoup the money.

Exactly why to do it. Put in some Whiteline bushings, Moog ball joints and some fresh paint and they are better than new!

 

You know what options I got for a LBJ?

Was crawling around under today and spied a hole in the boot with a bit of grease leaking out. Less than a year old. Fml


@CttAznRanger, didn't you do this recently? What part # did you use? Hoping it's the same between gens.

 

Looks like Moog or Mevotech from Rockauto, not sure about more of a "performance" option though

 

I haven't gotten them swapped yet, although what I did purchase was this:

I'll tell you the best method to doing the bushings is to take a punch and punch sleeve in a little on the hole in the control arm, heat the control arm pretty good, keep heating while you use the factory bottle jack as a press

 

OEM unless you're going fancy pants race parts. And even then just go oem for LCAs. The aftermarket ones like moog etc are hot garbage. OEM is the way to go.

Working mainly. Uber busy, lots of travel and such.

 

Maintenance blitz done! Fuel filters, diff fluid, brake pads, tire rotation, driveline greased, air filter done. Oil change later in the week. Got the camper pulled out, lines flushed, bearings packed, brakes checked, fridge checked, propane on, wiring all checked and roof touch up caulked.

 

I think I saw you the other day pulling out of a Cumberland Farms.
