I made the M6000 mistake as well. Turns out way more M6000s were made than I thought. Owner claimed it was an M8000 but the label was missing and they're almost identical visually.

 

I agree. We shouldn't need to worry about Rock. I remember @Empty_Lord showing some counterfeit plugs a while back.

 

Yeah the only way to visually tell without any labels is the motor cap.
I'm not really upset about it. I only paid $100 for it and it's a good project to work on while waiting for the baby to come.

 

As long as you buy them from a legit source I wouldn't worry. I doubt any of the major parts stores are ordering in fake parts. At least I hope not

Last couple times I needed Denso sensors I got them from the Pepboys down the street using discounts I had saved up. Didn't let me down

FF definitely would've helped, they don't get that much snow up there. Normally I don't look at anything that's even that far north, or really north of me at all, but sometimes there are outliers. My wagon came from D.C., it was a State Department vehicle registered to a foreign diplomat that never got used. Even the bolts on the arms are new, hell it still has stickers on the chassis from the factory. Guessing it just sat in a garage. It's funny to me that there's a slight chance it was a spy's vehicle. I wonder if diplomats choose or the govt has a list to pick from.
