I signed up here a while ago, before I bought my 2012 Tacoma. It has been fine so far, no real issues. I'm going to change out the front turn signals today, looks easy peasy, but I'm reminded that when I pop the hood it releases but does not go up high enough to easily get my fingers under it. I have to squeeze them in under the corners. Minor irritation. Are they all like this? Is there an adjustment to get it up? A pharmaceutical answer? :)

Mines a 2006 so the grill is a little different, but I usually use the part of the latch behind the grill that's easily accessed as opposed to lifting the hood up and searching for the intended latch.

Apply lube or it will get stuck, had to fight mine for about an hour. Had to pull on the cable from the interior with a set of vice grips, luckily it didn’t rip…lol! Good luck!

    This^^

When closed, how's the fender to hood line up? Is it flush? Too low?

I'll wager the above mentioned bumpers need adjustment. That provides the tension to pop the hood up

Half a turn counter or anti clockwise on the bumpers? What lube on the latch? The interior handle for the latch seems to pull as easily as all the other vehicles I've owned. Thanks for the answers. I need to see if there is a setting here to be emailed when I get replies. I had forgotten about this.

I'm on a Triumph motorcycle forum, that's the British phrase. Maybe they were first, IDK. ;-)

^^All the above. Adjust bumpers and grease it. I added hood struts a few months ago and hood pops right up now.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
May want to hit the hinges with something also. Garage door lube should work well for that application, or even some kind of spray grease.
