Do these Sports and Offroads have auto sensing headlights or do I need to turn them off & on?

Depends if your truck is equipped with Auto-headlights, you can set the switch to "Auto" and the sensor is on the dash by the passenger side speaker.

Mine says Auto. Does this mean I have auto or is my stalk just a generic auto stalk...

If it says auto on your stalk you’re good.

My OR has auto head lights. But it only likes to turn them on once it’s very dark. Hardly ever when it’s raining. I manually need to turn them on..

You can adjust the sensitivity through the head unit if my memory is correct.

Auto headlights should be part of an additonal option package, unless they changed something for 23.

Other manufacturers link the lights to the wipers, not sure why Toyota doesn’t do it too. Should be a “Toyota Safety Sense” type feature but what do I know.

The fact that Auto headlights are an option in the year 2023 is mind boggling. My 2020 doesn't have them, and I cannot remember the last car I had that didn't have them.

But everyone here told me that Toyota’s are ultra reliable and nothing goes wrong. So why should I have to worry about wiper activated headlights? I mean it’s not a Ford is what people say.

The reason Toyota's are generally high in reliability is because they don't put all the latest and greatest stuff in until it's been perfected. Even then, they don't throw it to all models. They slowly add it to various models. Look how long it took the Tundra to get TSS, push button start, or the car apps for phones. Other Toyotas had all those for years, but it took them forever to get it to every model.

Toyota will never be as feature rich and the newest vehicles from other manufacturers. Have to pick what is important.

Auto headlights came out in 1952.

And electric cars started in 1832. What's your point?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe battery technology was a bit behind in 1832. Delayed wipers came out in my lifetime, what electric car are you referring to?
