Four Peaks area. The too-damned-busy road just off highway 87. I had the skill to go more than 7 miles but as elevation climbed the road narrowed to 1 1/2 cars wide around blind corners and I only barely backed down 100 ft or so for two downhill vehicles at one of those blind edges.

If it was not so full of "tourist SxS groups" and others, I would have stayed and become more accustomed to roll angles.

Guess I need to find less used roads to learn my off-road skills.

does the Harrop engage right away? Been looking at different e lockers as an option to air.

The price difference is large (in my wallet!!!) for the ARB system and installation, unless diy’n. On top of that I prefer the E Lockers. I feel it engage in a fraction of a second because I don’t feel a period of disengagement (trying to engage) while engaging. I feel the tight end immediately. I like how it is not finicky like the OEM locker can be sometimes. My first 2nd Gen was a royal pain to engage and disengage. Then the 2012 was mint.

Paid around 1350 for the locker shipped. And 600 to install locker in diff and another 300 for the electrical hook-up. I chose the factory button style as opposed to the rocker switch, which the place was okay on switching As they had the OEM aftermarket switch in hand.

Was your hood popped in that pic or was the truck just extra flexy?

Also, those ditch lights are aggressive

I noticed it looks popped too but no it was very flexi! When I went back out the trail I crawled in nose first and it was much deeper than I thought. Left rear tire was off the ground so put it in 4wd and backed her out lol
Here is the left rear coming out in that pic with hood looking popped IMG_3644.jpg

I definitely hit snow up near the top, but there are a lot of trails out this way that are open, but very soft and muddy. Let me know if you want to run any of them, it'd be nice to have another vehicle to run with sometime.

Yesterday was by far one of the funnest days wheeling. We started out just below Pearsonville on trail 117 and headed down towards Jawbone entering three different distinct canyons in the southern Sierra Nevada looking for super blooms. Looks are deceiving. The creek crossing doesn’t look like much, but it pushed the stock work truck SR5’s height! What a rush. On our last canyon, which I think was trail 120(Short Canyon), there was a section of DEEP sand and the ALSD 4x4 took it with ease. It’s 3:00 in the monin’ and I’m still jazzed and awake from the experience!

BTW, we were crazy enough to cross over to Gorman to have dinner at Hungry Valley. Man, what a wheelin’ bum!

Gorman, CA at Hungry Valley SVRA. That particular spot is on Rattler Trail. It gets sketchy up and over as there is some camber involved.
