They just made the Tundra 1/2 foot longer so I guess the Tacoma will have to keep up.

Interior packaging, cab design could be changed to add a few more inches of interior space easily without making the truck any longer.

Let me present you the Ford...I mean Toyota Maverick. I was shocked to see they are essentially the same size

Looking back at the Toyotausa IG, they teased the Grand Highlander on Dec 1 with a dark booty shot. 2 months later on Feb 1 they posted an interior shot of the back seat leg room and an official announcement date. Could be a couple months before we see anything else on the new Tacoma if they follow that trend.

Just need to take a minute and acknowledge how ridiculous it is that they teased a date on a social media post for a new vehicle, and then took that date to show a picture of a tailgate only.

    That's bush league.

They should be able to take a few inches from under the hood now that it has a teeny engine. Also add another 6” to the total length and you can gain real space inside the cab. That would make a huge difference in making this truck practical for a family.

But Toyota knows with that picture they hooked a lot of folks that will have to have it. Mechanical details, price, and who knows if any reliability issues be damned, lots of trd bros got sold on that one picture alone.

and for the record I just bought a 23 2.7 SR so I’m not in that camp

There’s probably no rush because they know they won’t be able to produce many trucks anyways. I drove by my local Toyota dealer yesterday and the lot was mostly empty.

I'm wondering when we'll start to see car lots fill up a bit? It seems like they are now sold even before they make it off the assembly line. However, I'm guilty of that. We are picking up a Rav4 Hybrid in a few days and have been waiting 5ish months.

My guess is never. I don’t think we’ll ever see full lots again where you can just show up and pick from 20 different variations of the vehicle you want. This perceived shortage let’s the dealers charge whatever they want.

Some dealerships even have alternate lots far from dealerships to keep the perception of a shortage

there's one like that where i live

empty lot if you're looking at the location from the highway which is the location that used to keep all its vehicles, but go to their inner city location and its flush with vehicles

I just can't see them putting a TTV6 in a Tacoma. Not Toyota's style at all.

The 2.5L T from the Grand Highlander seems like the obvious choice for the TRD Pro iForce Max. So obvious that it's hard to imagine it being anything else.

For me it's doing the opposite. I'm dragging my feet on buying, hoping to see if I want to wait for the 4th Gen or go with a different manufacturer.

The longer they make me wait the more likely it is I'll buy elsewhere.
