Is that third photo an old culvert headwall?

It's old cattle rancher stuff on one of the mitigation properties I'm in charge of. At one time there was a functioning culvert under the dirt road. That filled in and backed up enough to fill in the upstream creekbed enough the water started flowing across the road following rains. So then it became a ford crossing (low flow streamcrossing). Then a headcut formed on the downstream side of the road and a simple retaining wall was installed. Well, all of that is there so that is our best guess of the sequence before we bought the property.

With all these storms it eroded behind and around the wall into our little road, and deposited all that new sediment in front of the wall. Working on a fix now with engineers.

Currently a Fleet Maintenance Specialist. Sonoma had a CMMS Analyst/Fleet Maintenance Analyst role open so I applied for that. It's basically what I do now but working for Sonoma sounds like it could be pretty interesting. Fingers crossed.

Sorry I'm above Sacramento. But I'm curious, which position did you apply for?

I’m also curious. I’ve had the worst luck with EBMUD for job applications but gave up over ten years ago. Seems like a good company to work for.

I'm a wildlife biologist (work along side fisheries biologists) at a nearby water district. I use to know a couple biologists there but its been ten years or so and lost contact so can't help in that regards. However, if you get an interview I could give you some interview tips and help you prepare for the interview, or do the same for your application/resume before you apply to similar positions in the future. If so PM me and I'll send you my number.

I'm 38 soon to be 39 and have been considering a career change to be a treatment operator. Passed the Water Treatment operator test from Sac State and have been weighing the option of taking the state test for T2 and going for it. Any advice? My career experience would point me more towards plant mechanic type positions but feel treatment might be a nice change of pace and easier on the body. Have a buddy that just turned T3 and he's now making more than me in the Sacramento area lol

One of the best career moves I made. I have a T4 I got in 2008 and it led me into the career I have now.

I’d say take the T2. It’s not that bad of a test. You already did the hard work of taking the class.

The industry is going to be hurting for operators (already is). City of San Francisco is at like 60% of staff right now.

Although if I had to start over I’d go wastewater. Really really high demand.

Also water ops is dynamic if your into it. Always problems to solve.

I’ll bet if you Google it there are a bunch of water ops job in your area. Get an idea of what’s out there. Plus if you’re halfway competent you’ll get promoted quickly due to all the vacancies.
