It's awful. I worked for 27years just blocks from where most of the 1st season was filmed. I'm loving life now here in the mountains.

Yo ho! Paint is ~not~ chipped actually. Paint held up just fine im guessing thanks to the rubber bumper on the shopping cart.

Haha wow this conversation took off!
    Lol okay here we go...
I had sliders but removed them to prep the truck for paint.
Once removed realized how much all the armor weighed and decided it was time to shed some weight.
FWIW and if it makes you feel any better: I put a shopping cart up to the damaged door and found it would not have been stopped by the slider.
The bottom of the basket was higher than the rocker panel beneath the door and would not have made contact with the slider.

Thank you both. I did, filed a report and made a claim. Insurance paid out about $600 which should cover the repairs so in the end this will just be an inconvenience.

Hey Buddy! Yeah I agree, im thinking I might try that route. Having replaced the door speakers before I know what that cavity looks like and thought to try it myself. Wanted to ask TW first of course.

I've been stationed in many places including TX. Currently residing back home in CA. It's true this can happen anywhere, but also true that no one is surprised when it's in CA lol. Thanks for the backup though.

I had a guy who lived the next street behind us for kicks snunk over one night while it was snowing and slashed the vinyl roof on my moms car. Before the sheriff showed up I followed the tracks right to the dudes house. When I got back to our house the sheriff had just pulled in. I told him what I just did and he told me I compromised the evidence and now there was nothing he could do. I stormed off for the guys house because there was still something I could do. I beat on the the side of his house and told him to get his ass out side. His wife opened the door and lunged at me and started screaming Billy he's raping me. Billy flew out the door with a pistol and slipped on the ice. The gun went off just missing me. The sheriffs deputy comes flying up to me as I run back out in the street and ordered me into the cruiser. As I dived in he floored it we drove away. He took me about 3 miles away and pulled over and ordered me out of the cruiser. He then said for me to think about what just happened while I walked back home. He drove away. Nothing happened to the dude.
About 3 weeks later the dude regretted his decisions that day. Things worked out.
As tempting as it maybe to find the guy who messed up this guys truck don't do it.

Wow what a story! That makes it much worse when it feels like the police won't help you but i'm glad to hear karma found it's way.

There's more footage showing how obviously intentional this act was.
I thought of all kinds of ways i'd be happy to get him back, some i'd be ashamed to write.
But at the end of the day, it's not worth it or what might come as a result of me doing so.
Police report made, insurance paid for the damage.
What's done is done and im not going to make a crazy guy with a few bottles/cans to his name regret it.

I remember when my little brother and I were very young sometimes we'd get into a fight.
He'd hit me first, I'd hit him back, then he'd start bawling. Mom/Dad comes around the corner and I got in trouble, not him.

My mom would always say "you keep picking on your little brother, just watch, one day he will be bigger than you"

Me at 11 years old, pffft...yeah right mom whatever you say

Now I'm 5'11 and my little brother is 6'3

I always tell him he has me to thank for being so tall

Best way to go, especially reporting to the police. Perhaps this is someone who they've been looking for or maybe the incident could change his life..never know

Good you got it repaired. Suggest you stay alert. Unprovoked aggressive behavior such as displayed often escalates to violence.
