Where did you get the new misalignment spacers? I've got a similar issue of rub from my cv

With all the trouble you have had with valve covers strongly recommend you chase and clean spark plug threads. I skipped this on my old 4runner and ended up with a cross thread. You don't want that.

Yeah, you're right. I just looked at TC call for it to be run that way.

Wonder if it would make sense to swap tie rods side to side. :notsure:

I swiped them off of my old icons.

I believe it is the driver's side. Although I'd done some stupid stuff before.

To help keep it from hitting the dust sheild?I I think I might have a spare I could throw up there and see.
It wasn't a issue tell I got the alignment. I don't know if it was because I didn't drive it far or if it was because of all the caster put in it.

looking through the FSM and I'm having trouble locating torque specs for the lower plenum fasteners (long middle, 2 star bolts, and 2 nuts at front and rear) and same for the upper plenum. I looked in FSM service specs and can't see it in Engine Mechanical, standard bolt torque specs, nor in the repair manual for those. Where does the FSM specify the lower/upper plenum torques?

Looking through the FSM it seems like what I've been calling the lower/upper plenum is referred to as the air intake assembly. If that's correct, I'm not sure how to interpret the torque specs in the chart below. It should be 13 ft-lbs for everything but the air intake chamber stay x LH cylinder head, Air intake chamber. Is that the long bolt that goes through the lower plenum?

Found it, posting here for anyone searching later. The 5VZ-FE upper plenum and lower plenum torque specs are in the photo below (13 ft lbs for all fasteners on the lower plenum and upper plenum):

You want the FOX ones because they are offset. It was def a little more difficult to install initially with the o-rings but some channel locks squeezing the whole setup before trying to install helped a lot.

Okay last question, pretty much done with reassembly but the cap to this circular component of the throttle body fell off into the engine bay and I haven't been able to find it. Hoping when I back out of the garage it knocks loose but if not I can search underneath (don't want to in the garage right now since some fuel spilled onto the floor). Am I able to start the car without this or will I risk some sort of sensor error?

Will post a video but I've reassembled everything, double checked the hose attachments and there's no spare parts lying around. I tried to start the car but it sounds like the starter is rattling so to speak. It makes a quick repetitive knocking noise and doesn't turn over. Anyone seen this before?

Thanks for the help y'all, speedytech especially. Replaced the battery and it turned over without problems. Finished the valve cover gasket replacement, here's some pics of the engine

We’ve left all the trucks at home and flew to explore AZ. Man you all that live out here on the west coast have some amazing places to explore. And we’ve only been in AZ! I can’t imagine the areas in Utah, Colorado, Cali, and all the other spots I see pics of on here. The overland Tacos we’ve seen have been ridiculously cool! It’s definitely a different world to the extremely flat beach world I’ve lived in my entire life.F13B3BE4-9A7B-4D74-9C71-C52AEC0AD97E.jpg
