    We've gone from freezing a couple of weeks ago - to 96º yesterday. Too much swing! This is about a month early on the heat.

    :pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Drying out and only headed to low 70's, so I think I'm going to mow.

    Need to mow, but first off to the store before it gets too crazy.

    My wife is home after her two-week hospital stay. She was NPO (nothing oral) and TPN (IV feeding) but never got the colon to stop leaking. Docs balanced out electrolytes and got her rehydrated, so she was feeling better. MRI showed no holes in her colon (think of tissue paper with micro fissures, it just seeps out). An infection started occurring on the PIC line, so it was pulled out, would vac couldn't hold a vacuum (too much sepage). So she is back home. Thankfully it was the wound care nurse who read the doctor the riot act of she needs hospice, not more hospital bedtime.

    She doesn't each much, dropped from 108# to 98# during her stay. Her shopping list is funny, from tuna to ribeye to whiskey, but what the hell I'll get her whatever she wants and not say a word about the cigarettes (thankfully, she only smokes outside) and whiskey. A couple of years ago I was helping her get into her doctor's appointment, and one of the nurses commented "You are a wonderful son," so I've grown my gray beard since then.

    Surprised to find out our solar power installation got moved up when the install crew showed up in the driveway this morning. Will be ready for final inspection on Friday/Monday and generating power after inspection.

    Morning all:
    Good to hear that your wife is home Tom, I would also get her anything that she wants, wishing all the best for both you and her.

    Back to the Z turn, darn thing has 18 grease fittings, all I need to do is find them, then check the air gap on the clutch and adjust if necessary, then change the hydraulic oil at some point, I have the oil but need to get the filter.

    My sister Mitzi has smoked since we were kids. We’ve all tried to get her to quit but she’s stubborn and that’s probably the reason she has raised such good kids.

    Glad your wife’s home Tom.

    When I was a kid and fairly broke, I drove a 1965 Ford F100 step side. I was in need of tires. Dunlop (I think anyway?) had a tire factory in San Diego that also did retreads. I took one tire off at a time, mounted my spare and then had one tire retreaded each trip to Dunlop. One tire a month and I had 4 new retreads! Hell, that's all I could afford to do! Still wish I had that truck! Orange Highway workers truck, step side, short bed 2wd automatic with a straight 6. Bullet proof truck!

    Good morning Porch Pals and Gal.

    Forecast is another beautiful weather day. Plan for today is spring detail on Mrs. SpruceMica's minivan. Seems I always put that vehicle off and do it last...it's climbing on the step ladder and seeing that enormous roof...oof!

    Yesterday I had an oil change along with a coolant change done on my 911. Motor in the back, multiple radiators up front, six drain points. It's more like evacuating and recharging an a/c than drain and fill. You refill by pulling a vacuum and using a scan tool to cycle valves in the system and then bleed it the same way. Love the car, great to drive and very reliable but the routine maintenance...yikes!

    @Devious6

    Yesterday I read a book about the Carbondale coal fire. Don't know if you're familiar with that or not, huge underground coal fire that began in the 40s and wasn't fully remediated until 1972. Excavated an area larger than Meteor Crater in Arizona down to bedrock, 150' deep. When we visited our PA family in 1966 (we're from Simpson, White's Crossing, Mayfield) I saw the ongoing dig. It was like seeing the surface of the moon.

    Morning 60+ :hattip:
    Having some beautiful April weather here . Usually April is very wet and dismal here . Getting lots done around the house . It just takes a bit longer . I used to be able to work all day then come home and work until dark in the yard . The ole’ back and arthritis has put a damper on that . So now I just take my time and get done what I can . Putting in some split rail fence . About 100’ . Probably take a few days with the manual post hole tool. :cool:
    I guess being sore and limping around beats the alternative :amen:
