Probably going to put this up for sale. Seeing that I build everything I play now, don't really get much use out it. Just put the stock parts back on it. Has brass saddles. It's matte finish. Plays great.

Trying to figure that out. Has one of those PRS cases too that kinda backpack or something. Nice case though. Shoot me a pm if you're interested I can send you more pics. Looks like they are going for about $880 on Sweetwater. Looks like on Reverb they are going for $500 to $700 used. IDK, $400 I guess plus shipping.

It could have been worse, but finally had a fast one pulled on me. Got a strat as part of a trade deal; it was supposed to be a highway one, but discovered that while the neck appears to be legit, the body was in fact a squire. Went to do a fresh setup on it, and seemed like the neck was angled down a hair too much, so I pulled it off to see if there was a shim I could pull, and that's when I noticed the big squire stamp starring back at me. Of course in hindsight, I totally missed that the trem cover had symmetrically placed screw holes, whereas Fenders typically have the two middle screw holes offset. Also, the neck showed it's 20 year age, but the body was in pristine condition; that should have been another potential clue. But oh well.

The guitar sounded good; the value was still there in the neck and it came with a nice case; if they had been upfront with me, I'd maybe even still have taken the deal... but, since they weren't, the whole thing really irked me. So I made the decision to retain the neck, but part out the rest.

I'm not that big into the faux relic thing; but found a very lightly relic'd daphne blue MJT body that grabbed my attention; located some various used parts that are in route to pair it with. So will have a bit of fun re-assembling to my own tastes with a bit of a light relic touch.

    Yep! Roland T-17

Surprisingly not that bad at all; they've been auctioning already made bodies on ebay (mjtele) with starting price of $225. Some killer deals available so long as you don't get caught in a bidding war with someone. Feels like very good quality and the neck pocket is a spot on fit; and this one only weights 3lbs 9 ounces.

Was quite surprised to see some parts arriving today, well ahead of expectations... I mean, this was USPS we're talking about here!

It's usually fairly slow for me, but I also live in a rural area so that's certainly a factor; not unusual for UPS to be delayed here too. FedEx is the only one that's typically on point. My only two shipping out options are USPS (local post office) or FedEx (via a Dollar General drop off point); closest UPS drop off point or service center is roughly an hour away.

But, USPS is making up for lost time this week, lol.

Started my first amp build this week, a 5F1 clone from Booth Hill. So far, it’s been a lot of fun.

Nice! 5F1 is a great circuit to cut your teeth on. Looks like you're tackling the cab yourself too. There's some that can do the electronics, there's some that can do the wood work; there's not many that can do both. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I’ve built a couple pedals that worked so I figured why not try an amp, especially since my soldering skills have improved immensely. I’ve been making LED “neon” signs at work, along with some fun backlit ones too.

I’m confident in building the cabinet… wrapping the tweed will be the challenge!

Of course I have already ordered new F&T caps for it. I had to find something to get free shipping on the fabrics.

I always enjoyed the woodwork, but was never a fan of wrapping. Sure, I've done it plenty of times over the years, but every single time was filled with frustration and expletives, lol. I started opting for using nice figured or furniture grade woods, just so I wouldn't have to deal with tolex ever again.

Cool! I have not made an amp yet, but I have made quite a few pedals and a couple guitars.

After much tweaking and adjusting, getting happy with the action and playability, then deciding I wanted to float the trem so doing all of that setup all over once again...
    it plays and sounds great!
Was working on recording some clips last night, but was having one of those moments where my fingers wouldn't cooperate with me after hitting the record button.
