Lets hope they adjust the payload on this "Trailhunter" accordingly, but then again we are talking about the company that built an off road truck without tow hooks or a place to put them...so...crappy payload it is I guess.

That front wheel looks like its nearly inline with the headlight, minimal over hang.

Looks like there will be lots of ARB goodies.

The MSRP will definitely go up at least $5k for the hybrid versions because of the new battery and drive train components. But the midsize truck market is much more price sensitive than the full size truck market (average transaction price in 2022 for a midsize truck was $40130 vs $60289 for full size, from here: https://www.autolist.com/guides/average-car-price ), so they may be misjudging the desire for midsize truck buyers to pay more. But we still don't know which engine options will be available for which trims, and even if we knew that we probably won't know pricing info until late fall.

HOT TAKE — the Trailhunter is literally useless and a waste of money if you modify your truck to in any way to perform better off road. I have a good feeling that most of the people who will buy it are the office managers that just buy it to commute back and forth to work because it “looks cool”

I just want to see the TRD Off-road trim…

High clearance bumpers, sliders, skid plates, tow hooks... how are they useless? It's what 95% of people put on their trucks anyways. What will piss a lot of people off is if they only offer it in a longbed, I'd be happy but it might annoy some people.

Speaking for myself, I like to weigh my options on bumpers, suspension, sliders, etc on what is best. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg to buy a truck with what Toyota thought to be best, if that makes any sense…

Are we even certain the bumpers will be high clearance? Or just metal so it can fight off damage a little better than stock?

It will probably still need cutting to fit 35s even, I’d rather buy the off-road trim imo

The benefit I see of Toyota offering all of these items is it's all OEM. It's all going to fit perfectly, paint finish will be good, welds great and if something goes wrong it's all warrantied vs some random manufacturer that won't respond to emails and never answers the phone. This is great for people that have the funds to buy it new vs buying and adding all the accessories over several years...

Also weight, your taco will actually be within payload, I see so many rigs that must be way over payload and they likely have never even considered going over a scale to check.

I'm presuming the Gen4 Taco has a considerably better payload than the current truck. For Toyota to add skids, sliders, bumpers, roof rack, bedrack, fridge etc. they must have payload left over for 5 passengers. This will be great for people who tow and care about being within weight limits as a standard Taco (i.e no extra weight) could have sufficient payload to actually tow upwards of the maximum tow capacity and stay within legal limits.

The tow hook is up in the corner of the bumper and sits higher than the tow hitch so yes. Hopefully they have one on the other side as it'll likely act as a skid.

So if you want a different bumper you still have the option of buying something else but you have the added bonus of being able to sell this metal bumper at a premium because someone will want to buy it vs a standard SR5 plastic version.

I want to know what the oblong pop out is for in between the back up sensors are for? Maybe extra lights.

Do we think this is to sit above the TRD PRO? Or will slot in between the TRD Offroad and the TRD PRO? I feel like Toyota has put a lot of effort into building up the PRO so maybe that trim really does get more power or something to make it worth the extra money.

Hard to say, I'm just guessing.

Presume it will be the trim that comes with the snorkel, HD metal bumpers, and the other ARB-sourced bolt-ons along with teh offroad goodies of the TRD Offroad.

Wonder if that bumper will be high clearance all the way to the wheel wells.

I presume it will, but I guess it depends on how they option out, or what content is omitted by model. These factory added doodads are serious $$$.

Wonder what color that is, looks like a Bronze color, but it could just be Silver in bad lighting.

I think you can get a good idea what will be different on the trail hunter when you look at the additions to the Tundra. From a manufacturing standpoint it doesn't make sense to mold new body panels or cut processed panels if you don't have to.... Which means the fenders and things aren't likely to be trimmed for these additions:
