That's cool you got it set up and playing good.

Yeah, it's weird how you will just stop playing good sometimes because you hit that record button.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

About that USPS reliability thing... LOL

I've never really been much of a tele fan; in fact, I've never owned one and could probably count on one hand how many times I've even held one. But, after how the strat turned out, I thought it would be fun to re-run the exercise and finally put a tele in the stable. Tossed a single bid on another MJT body, and it carried through to the finish. Most of the remaining parts showed up fairly quickly; until it came to the neck and neck related accessories.

Neck plate: first one, lost in the mail; seller only had the one. Bought another from a vendor, after a scare thinking that one also was getting lost, it finally showed up... except they didn't send me a neck plate, they sent me guitar picks. Take 3 is hopefully in route.

String tree (circle style): got the package, it was in rough shape, and it only had the screw in it; tree was missing. Ordered again.

The neck was also taking it's sweet time getting here, but after I was starting to get nervous, it was finally scanned again nearby yesterday, there was hope... then I checked again this morning, just to see this -

...I don't think it was meant for me to have a tele.

So yeah... definitely not meant for me to have a tele.
Finally get a refund and over the drama of the neck that was listed as damaged and returned to sender (after it got bounced around the USPS network for a while)... order another neck, it arrives today, and... doesn't fit the pocket. It's an MJT neck going on an MJT body too!

So I give up, I think I'm just going to sell the body and be done with it.

Almost finished with the 5F1 build. Hoping to have the chassis mounted tonight and see how it sounds!

Yeah, it's a tele style headstock, but I guess it was intended to fit a strat. So this one is really on me for not paying closer attention I guess. It would probably function fine if I just bolted it in as is, but that gap would drive me nuts.

I hear that, but a strat neck does work fine on a tele, but a tele neck won’t fit a strat body.

I have a left handed tele neck I don’t see using in the near future… it could be used with a new neck and with the tuners reversed.

MJT said they'll swap it out for me; so fingers crossed that this is the last "curse of the tele project" incident.

Yeah, nice work on the tweed covering! Did you shellac it? Whatever you finished it with, turned out great.

Dallas Rangemaster clone all soldered up. Transistor biased and grit set. This one works with other pedals too as PNP transistors don't play well with the more common NPN transistors.

Great looking neck! Sucks about the drop, but at least it's not very noticeable and shouldn't impact anything. Maybe just a drop of glue or ebony filler just to help stabilize it, to mitigate any risk of the crack wanting to grow late down the road.
