It was only a matter of time before this happened and I couldn't be happier. The Tacoma is a great truck but I just outgrew it and it was purchased by my guy at the sawmill where I buy my timbers and I get to see it sitting at the office when it go there to pick up. My new truck is a 2017 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited in black. When towing and hauling, the Tacoma was often maxed out as far as written numbers would have you believe but I did have two extra leafs in the rear which carried heavy loads like a champ. The Tundra on the other hand will carry and tow these loads easily especially because the first upgrade I did was to have an extra leaf added to it as well. I just can't tolerate a squatting truck with moderate loads.
The biggest like I have with the Tundra is the comfort and space. I never thought that would be important to me but here I am in my 60th year and wanting to be comfortable. The fuel mileage in the tundra is about 15 mpg for average driving, 17 mpg for highway driving and 14 mpg towing/highway with 5000 lbs of timber on the flatbed. The Tacoma was averaging 16 mpg with 18 mpg on the highway and 14 mpg towing. The Tacoma also had a small lift and larger than OEM tires that were 10 ply rated.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
You landed two great trucks! I hope tundra lives up to its reputation 4 you.

Yes I will. The Tacoma is a great rough and tumble truck which makes it great for hunting, offroading fun scootin around. Although it could tow lots, the motor worked hard and was louder than the tundra.

    Nice!

You are better off with a Tundra if you are towing.
The Tacoma drinks fuel when towing.
The only thing you might miss is the ability to maneuver in tight spaces.
I could see myself in a Tundra one day. As for now, my Tacoma is paid off and is still “getting the job done.

Did you sell it privately or trade in?

    ***Just read your post lol!

How much did you sell it for if you don’t me asking? Curious to see what our trucks go for locally.

It was a 2013 limited with 215,000 km on it. Although I may have gotten more, I sold it for $20,000 to a my good friend at the sawmill. I was offered $15,000 for trade in.

Just thank to Toyota-God that you’re staying Toyota. It always disgusts me when someone announces their departure and shows their new garbage Chevy or Dodge as if we care for or even like those.

Tundras are excellent and you will definitely be happy.

I agree. I've been a Toyota-only guy since 1990. If you are not a Toyota fan boss, maybe you should be on a "anything goes forum" where you can brag about your flavor of the day truck. Lol
The tundra is a solid truck and has an outstanding reputation for reliability up to 2021 at least. The new trucks will have to prove themselves over the the next few years and I'm sure the new Tacoma's coming out next year will have some teething pain as well.

Same. Will always be. I literally grew up in my dad’s old 4Runner. I’ve now had two 4Runners and two Tacomas (currently have one of each). Family and I have always had only Toyotas. I’ll never have anything else…. and I have directly influenced and converted ~10 other people into the way of Toyota. :D

Too bad you can't have both. The taco just can't do big truck things well.
