I’m not much of a launcher but I’ll spend a day and a half on something that should take no more than a hour to do. :annoyed:

The new capacitor is around $20 at any industrial motor shop or an HVAC supply house. Often the problem is that the door is just so far out of adjustment, the door wheels get bad too and cause drag.

    Fortunately they are pretty cheap:

A few dollars and an hour or two to tune everything up and be back in business, with most of your money still in your pocket. :D

    Printers... My patience tester. :(:mad::rocket::nuclear:

I just about launched one out into the dooryard at the garage one day, it took me 2 hours to print a car registration.

I still can't get used to the manual in this darn thing! 3rd gear is hard to get into some times and good luck getting a clunk free 5th or 6th. My FWD manuals have definitely spoiled me over the years.

I did almost put it in reverse going around a round about yesterday. Was a weird situation to get into 1st quickly, but it was almost a pretty big whoops. Luckily the truck beeped at me and the reverse camera came on. The Ford Ranger behind me saw the reverse lights and freaked out. Sorry dude!

Adam since you're talking mulching coming up, those two trees in the front might pop if you hit em with the mulch ring, just a thought.

Those trees are both unfortunately slated to be removed in the next couple years. The property used to have a good many trees, but one by one have been cut down. Between the termites, carpenter ants, and high winds they've been meeting their demise. :pout:

First really doesn't want to engage much above a walking speed, just as well really as 10 mph is about 4000 rpm.

The transmission seems to take a very long time to break in, changing to the Motorcraft fluid as we discussed previously made a stunning improvement in smoothness.

I have always taken a bit of pride with my smoothness with a manual, this is the most difficult manual to consistently be smooth with I have ever had. The most clanky too.

I attribute a lot of the noise to the aluminum case, the old trucks with iron cases and top shifter were generally very quiet, they ran heavier 90 grade oil too.

Part of my smoothness issue is me, my feet, ankle & legs aren't 100, 90, well even 80% anymore so I am using the wrong muscles - using more leg than ankle to work the clutch. I really have to pay attention to be consistently smooth with it.
    Still fun though. :)

Very nice, but I'm going to critique this. The Elk should have been put on the state's eastern side, and you should have put a nice Whitetail buck on the western side.:hattip:

30b363 should be the part number for the capacitor.

The specs are in the photo so you could get one locally.
That unit was built for Sears by Liftmaster.

I feel like I’m a kid again and this thread is the mom and pop, local hardware store that has everything you’re looking for and staff who know what they’re talking about. Not a corporate sign to be seen.

    Amazing help, thank you

We had a fellow who owned a Service Star Hardware, he could build, repair or operate anything. You walked in and said "I need to do ___" and he would list every step of the job for you, all the materials and tools too.

I bought a pick once, you buy the handle and the iron separately.
He said "I'll throw in the screw for free" and put a medium size pan head screw on the counter. Of course I'm (young) like o_O...

He explained: "Drill a small hole in the handle right under the iron and put the screw there, if the iron comes loose the screw will stop it so it doesn't pinch your fingers."

I went home, did as I was told and promptly forgot all about it.
10 years later I swung the pick up and heard a "thunk", the screw caught the iron just as he said it would.

Shame those old fellows are gone. :pout:

My Credit Union still has free popcorn on Fridays - they have a real theater style popper too.

for a short time in my youth, it was fun to talk to those guys that were always motivated to figure out the most convoluted of projects. it was always well worth the effort to get partway across town on a bike. i don't even remember most of the projects anymore, but i remember guy's with white hair and those red Ace Hardware vests that never fit right, how they would get all excited after i'd explain the project i was working on, and then they'd lead me through the store to grab parts like the Rabbit out of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

then for a much shorter time, it was fun to screw with their replacements that had zero clue how to even operate the cash register, sending them all over the store for a left-hand-thread wood screw, or a 1"x9" Madison Pine board. i quickly learned that playing with an idiot like that is as entertaining as fishing in a small aquarium.

auto parts are the same way anymore. it's not even fun to ask for a 1972 vw beetle water pump.

On a Sunday I needed spark plugs for the old fork lift, my good parts store is closed naturally, so I go to AZ...

The young lady there asks what I need:
Rusty: Spark plugs for a 1946 Towmotor LT 40
Girl: ........... long blank stare........... A what?
I repeat and she starts going through the computer, asks me again 2X - A what?
Finally she asks "is this a boat?" o_O
    R: No, a fork lift
She then turned to google and I couldn't go on.
R: How about four Champion D21 spark plugs?
    She seemed relieved. ;)
