Following the trends of the Ranger with their ARB Ford Performance products, I think you can now get the Ranger ARB bumper in it's final year of production, and the Colorado ZR2 AEV Bison. Toyota is about five years late with the TH edition.

Was the first thing I thought of too. One of the best colors along with Spruce Mica.

At first glance it looks like satin or matte finish, may just be the lighting in the studio.

Nooooooooo!!!!!!! As the original owner of a 2013 pyrite mica, I want them to keep the color retired. Its kind of a rare color, and I like it that way.

Stumbled across this today. The file name for the new teaser rear bumper picture is "MY24_Tacoma_TH_TEASER_001_HERO-1500x1000" if you download it from Toyota Newsroom.

Wondering what HERO here stands for. Hero bronze? New hero color? Obviously, TH is for Trailhunter

For reference, the first teaser picture was named "920B_MY24_0040_V001". 920B is the internal development code of the 2024 Tacoma.

I do apologize, if I misled anyone to believe the first week of April was indeed going to be full reveal. I mistook "press announcement the first week of April" to mean, "reveal".

Unfortunately Toyota will be Toyota and will decide it's models like this, which warrant dragging out and irritating people once again. Never mind that sales of the current 2023 model are ongoing and if aren't going to be official on its replacement yet, maybe you should just stay quiet? Really ridiculous.

I have heard from a relative, that somewhere on YouTube an alleged Toyota employee refuted back in March, the April reveal dates and stood by her claim of late June 2023. Scarily, the numbers match up with 3 months of possible teasers every Tuesday. That's the worst case scenario, if she is on the money.

Ideally? Sometime in 6 weeks, hopefully ahead of the HQ Confidential on June 1st, which is where I had expected it to be prior to February.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that these patent images from the Brazilian patent were submitted in June 2022 (not Jan 2023) and are 100% the same ones included in the Japan Patent Office filing dated December 13, 2021. They are quite old in actually being 2021 renderings of the truck directly from Toyota, passed onto their Tokyo attorneys to file for design registration on their behalf in Japan. In some places I keep seeing them explicitly referred to as "2023 images", but that's not quite true.

They are the earliest publicly accessible images of the 2024 truck in question, because these design patents are typically based on the Priority Patent's filing date and date of the ornamental illustration's creation date. In short, the images are from the autumn of 2021, being based on the final body design (as we can see) of a TRD Off-Road trim level (most likely).

Both USPTO filings and Brazil filings were each executed on Toyota's behalf in June 2022, which is typically done 6 months after the Priority Patent in the parent country's patent office (JPO) has been filed (Dec 2021). I believe Toyota filed patent for those images as early as they did (truck launches in 2024), due to that BEV concept being shown the very next day. The earliness of the patent filing in the development process, risked the design getting exposed too early (which of course happened indeed) via premature release for opposition.

I've seen how these patents will be filed earlier than usual, when it is expected that imminent public exposure for necessary purposes, warrants legal protection of the given design immediately. Whether it's this 12/14/21 display or the trotting out of production body prototype test vehicles (more typical of German automakers who test publicly 24/7). Usually Japanese companies file their design patents very last minute, while German OEMs do it very early on in the game (2-3 years before release). The result of a naive patent office official.

Thanks for the info. Yeh those are the dates they were published and all I had to go by. They should have the date on them but that was left off the docs . Thanks

They are, (Toyota loves to drag their feet though) wonder if the overland trend is starting to die off. See an awful lot of mounted slept in once or unused RTTs popping up for sale. Hopefully I can get back to some uncrowded peaceful car camping like the old days… :)

It's a term used in web design.

"A hero image is a website design term used to describe an oversized banner image at the top of a website. Sometimes called a “hero header”, it serves as a user’s first glimpse of your company and offering because of its prominent placement towards the top of a webpage that usually extends full-width."

To me the TrailHunter is only BECAUSE of market trends. plenty of third party vendors did the same and even better with kits and direct bolt ons that many on here use. These special editions take the guess work out of all that configuration and has a warranty. BUT you pay a premium that not everyone can afford. I'm glad they're doing it but Toyota always has a reason they wait on things and don't easily bow to pressure.

Oh I agree. It is cool…but they are way late to the party. Wonder if they are going to anything for the shitty payload. Ya know my 1st Gen has a payload of 1600 lbs, my 3rd is 1100…every new generation should be better than the last one(s). Would think they would be up to 2000lbs by now, but no…they went backwards.

Just about every Brolander you see is waaaay over payload.
