    I’m not sure it will fit with the Jd fab pivot unless it extends to the same point. My oil pan is right next to the skid and no room really to go further.

    What skids do you have? And are you saying you're going with JD fab lower pivots? I have lower pivots/skid plate now and there's space. Since I'm using a quick drain valve, it's about 1.2" long. If I have to forego a quick drain, I'd have more clearance. Wasn't aware clearance is an issue since most skids mount to the lower front radiator support and subframe... If we can't get increased capacity I'm okay with cooling fins but it would be nice to get a little bit of both. Waiting to hear from Coupe if he's able to work out something for us.

    Otherwise may have to consider other options. I have a PML extended transmission cover that I'm pretty happy with but it's sand cast (I think that's what they call it)

    Lots baby!
    I did a little research on this a year ago. I did a layout on what it could look like. I will go look at my notes over the week end and I will do a post later in the week end.

    I’ll have to look. I already have the pivots and skid that he has for it. It’s higher than normal and basically sits right under it. Maybe it the Diff that rubs it not oil pan. I also have a fumoto so thinking more it likely has some room.

    Oh that pans nice. Since I'm going turbo and exhaust won't be in the way I could use that. Although I'm also thinking of converting to manual. Hmm. Maybe I should get another daily.

    XR here. I’ve got Coupes oil pan and I can attest to the quality. Complete kit and PERFECT fitment. I wish everything I bought was this well made.

    Hey guys, I don't currently have a SC on my 4.0 but may pick one up in the future. I've been reading up on these and seeing what all they are capable of/some of the tricks to get more out of them. I see heatsoak tends to be an issue and had an idea I was wondering if anyone had tried to remedy this. Has anyone tried to Cerakote/ceramic coat the entire SC itself since it's all metal, or take it apart and do all the pieces individually? I would think this is possible and would probably help quite a bit. I know it wouldn't be the cheapest thing to do, but wouldn't think it would be outrageous either.

    Methanol:water injection would be way cheaper and a lot more effective.

    I get that, plus you can get a little extra power out of it with meth injection. Why not do both and get double the cooling? If the price wasn't a concern.

    I just did some googling and what I got out of it is the SC rotors are the heat generator so coating it is more likely to hold heat in instead of keep it out. I wouldn't gamble on coating it myself.

    That was my next thought, that it would make it retain heat instead of releasing it into the engine bay. I know in the car racing world, some people cerakote the top of the piston to reduce the heat generated during combustion. I wonder if that could be the ticket here, get the SC blades/fins Cerakoted only to reduce the heat build-up internally?

    I believe the heat is generated mostly from air turbulence although I'm sure the rotors heat soak as well. I did see that there are coating services for rotors.

    I bought and added intake manifold heat shielding to mine. No idea if it made any difference.

    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hsp-140004

    Heatshield Products I-M Shields

    Stick on horsepower! Heatshield Products I-M shields reduce heat radiating from the top of the motor significantly. This creates a more dense fuel and air mixture, in turn creating more power. Think of them as intercoolers for your intake, with the same physics and chemistry, but just a different execution. They include heavy-duty adhesive that will stick to any clean, semi-smooth surface. Simply degrease and clean the surface, wipe it with pre-paint cleaner or isopropyl alcohol, let it dry, and then firmly press the Heatshield Products I-M shields onto the underside of the intake manifold.

    Features include:

    * Withstands 1,100 degrees F radiant continuous, 2,000 degrees F intermittent
    * Adhesive good for 300 degrees F
    * Lower intake temperatures
    * Increases up to 12 RWHP

    Got the truck on the schedule for estimate and repairs, finally. But it's getting traded in as soon as it's fixed.

    Looking at getting into a Lexus. Really just need room for me and a dog or two. Wondering if there's anything suitable for boosting in wagon/hatchback/small suv category? I know all of the new models have the small engine and turbo, but anything in the V6 range that can get s/c or turbo'd?

    ive done something similar to the delivery coolant line to the s/c.

    I would think that wrapping coolant lines would prevent them from dissipating heat more than keeping coolant cool. The SC coolant heat soaks quickly mostly due to the supercharger not the surrounding radiant engine bay heat and the wrap would only protect against the engine bay heat.

    That's my line of thinking

    agreed. sections of my lines are near the dipstick above the headers. so i felt it could be ok there.
