And now what? Still lots of recycling going on. Reducing and reusing would be better, though.

I get dirty looks, and condescending remarks when I recycle by neighbors.

Agreed. Water bottles for example. I'm no environmentalist, but I love not spending money on water bottles when I can just use my Brita and fill my hydroflask. It tastes better in my opinion, the water stays colder longer and I can have more of it at one time. Plus the savings of not spending money on water bottles. That's my thing.

I feel like the water tasting better is a REAL thing. We recently got this pitcher from Larq (?) or whatever my wife bought and honestly I thought the Brita water was already reall crisp and clean but this pitcher really makes a difference!

Remember when gas was like $2.59/gal and that was actually EXPENSIVE now I rejoice at $4.09/gal at costco!!

I've seen some youtube videos (because those are 100% credible as we all know) about different water filtration systems. Some say the Brita isn't the best one, but to me I like it just fine and I think it tastes great.

Okay you are either really young or I am really old…probably both but I remember when full serve at the chevron was .27 cents a gallon…to keep things in perspective…at the same time I worked at Sears for $1.56 an hour which was minimum wage. Oh and our brand new 3600 sq ft home at the end of a cul de sac was $45,000. Times have changed

Yep it’s confirmed. Started officially working in ‘77/‘78. Could have taken a job in the mill or as a choker setter in the woods for a lot more but saw the writing on the wall. They were putting most of the redwoods into national forests in order to protect them. Most of my friends only lasted a couple years before being laid off

No shame in that. One my best friends was a night stocker at our local grocery store. I used to hang out and help him do his work.
