A little late, but morning everyone!

 

As in get some replacement wiring and solder it in place? I suggested that to him and he liked that idea. I also mentioned adding some heat shrink if he was planning to take that route. But if I saw a wiring harness specifically for that for cheap, I'd snag it up quick and just give that to him and say here be done with it.

 

Firstly, 12ga for the squirrel.
Second, just cut and splice the wires with new solder connectors, heat shrink, and a new loom cover. No big deal, you can handle it

 

A 12ga in the front yard of a highly populated area is probably not advised. Class 1 misdemeanor at minimum
That's what he's planning to do. I'm good with that, I just want it to be easy on him. I've wanted his truck for the longest time. I'll post a pic of the odometer below.

 

He bought it new in 03. 1 owner. Original 5VZ and transmission.

 

As @Taco critter mentioned just replace the wiring thats damaged. Unfortunately back when I worked at a shop in Canton I had to repair alot of wiring due to rat damage. There is a rodent proof electrical tape. After I would repair wiring I would use new wire loom (plastic oe stuff) then wrap the loom in the rodent proof tape.

 

I cant help with your situation and I am going to let a little of my redneck show but I like squirrels.

 

That doesn't look horrible. How does it actually taste though? Is it gamey at all?
The one that got caught in the fan had its eyeball start to bulge out. Thought that thing was going to pop when I picked it up....

 

Everyone says it taste like chicken. It doesnt. Its rich and nutty. I like it best like I have above, pieced, parboiled and pan fried. That is with roasted radishes and radish greens from my garden last fall. My 85 year old mom makes the best squirrel pot pie you will ever try. If we ever have a meetup I will make a mess of it. Most property owners consider them a nuisance. I hunt them at my friends property across the way from me. He is an NRP officer and he likes when I shoot them off of his deer feeder. Season ended at the end of February so they are safe until mid September.

Yeah, they're a nuisance alright. Building nests n shiz in my Dad's truck. Ridiculous. I've never squirrel hunted before but I'd be down to try that, too!

 

My pup does alot of squirrel hunting too here on the property. She's older & a bit overweight so were always surprised when she catches them. She also catches birds.

Good girl. Do you have any fox squirrels at your place?

 

We can get together and hunt in the fall of you want to give it a try. It is a very under hunted species in MD and even on public land you can usually limit out by mid morning.

 

Sounds like a TW meet, some trail riding and add a squirrel hunt into the mix!

 

Farking tree rats! The wires look like they're going to emissions controls, just my guess by looking at the pics. Sub-sonic rounds in a .22 lever action will lower the rodent population.

I put in a long day wrenching on my 'new' GMC K2500.. broken exhaust studs where the Y pipe connects to the manifolds. I had forgotten how miserable of a job it is to fix broken/stripped holes while laying on a piece of cardboard.

I hope that everyone got a change to get outside and soak up some sunshine.
