I had a billet insert for about 14 years and decided to go back to a stock grill.

Removed the center section of the stock grille, and modified an aftermarket tube grille for an '05 Tacoma. Kept the stock emblem.

What I found is the dark metallic gray grill surround and bumper blades on the base model Tacoma are painted 11GY21.

Aftermarket stock after a deer sucked through my original factory grill. You can notice blacked out paint job failed after impact in 2017

BRO ARE YOU ME?? LOL I literally hit a deer on the way back home from my gpa's funeral.

Crazy thing is that my dad who passed away a couple years before him hit a deer on the same damn road.

Anyways, I had some retros I never installed because of my fear of hitting a deer but after the repair I installed some retros and a arb bumper lol.

Do you have a lift? I'm currently trying to figure out my next move. I have some new oem lbjs, but figured I need to do the lower CA and uppers too. But I would rather replace them with total chaos but it seems SPC is the way to go.

For the lift kit I was thinking the heavy spec from ome. 883 coils, nitros and Dakar aal.

I have a DCCB with a heavy skid plate from that guy that use to make them on here.

Yes I did oh OME about 11 years ago 881s…..I’m just a regular cab. You should be good with your choices maybe a tad heavy with the 883’s.
Kind of funny your damage was very similar to mine. You can see some details in my information

Now the damn deer will run into us from the side… Lol

Factory grill chrome was peeling off, so I peeled the rest off and painted the grill using Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner.

Came out pretty clean and has held up great

Other option is a new factory grill, but this was much cheaper.

Has anyone swapped a Toyota pickup grill (doesnt matter what year, I like the 1979 the most), onto an early trim ('97-'00) Tacoma? I would like to visualize, I always like the vintage look of the pickup grills but it might look funny on a Taco. Both models of the 1st gen trims very stale IMO
