I did a standard issue arb plastic style one a few trucks ago and told myself I would never again. But, the turbo needs clean air and I want truck to be able to go through a river if I want.

Have enough turbo/fuel to make way more power than I will ever need. Point of intake is to get more cool air and cleaner.

I think I can make it look proper. If the both of you and @02hilux think it was a bad choice and think it looks like shit I will vid it being cut off with bandsaw and send to you.

Probably be okay if you're going to do it with 4in. Just hard to route 4 inch piping and have it look decent

4" 304. Same as my exhaust. Have to cut a little of chassis support to get it to antennae hole area but it will be hidden with the high cut fender. To a sealed 4deepx10highx10wide ish box w/filter straight to turbo inlet.

Goal is to make it kinda unhateable.

Kinda jealous of that 3rd gen. Love those things.

If it turns out how I want, ill make you one to a 90 into engine bay. 1st gen all the same there.

Sometimes you get a product that exceeds expectations fully. This is one of them. Nicest robotic welds I’ve ever seen. Well done PSC.

Figured out that the 4-3" transition was not holding pressure so had to weld it. Have another one that I will prob have to address. Al tig improved slightly from last time but still hard to deal with the heat and getting burned.

The rest of the exhaust. Cheap ass Amazon pipe had small OD and was a nightmare to weld to things other than itself. It starts off a little rough on such a big gap but I can smooth it out a bit.

This is the current state of cluster fuck. A lot is temp just to keep things stable and not make too many changes while I deal with all the stupid things. I prob work on it like 5 hours a day 4 days a week and still nailing down dumb shit and the fabrication process seems to never end.

Speaking of trails, I’m itching to get back on them. Should I come over with a few beers to hang out? Now that the weather is nice.

Would love to hang out in 2023. When is this hunk’a junk gonna be ready? ;-)

Sure. Swing through anytime man. Im driving it. Took it to go grab some beers just now. Trans is still acting slightly off but gonna flush it one more time. Otherwise, its not bad. The turning radius is a little disappointing. I can't just whip into a parking spot. Gotta to a 3 point and its real wide so Im scared to hit shit with tires. May just go ahead and get some Reid knuckles if it is an issue on trails.

I don't think I ever used the term good. I mean, its not horrible but Idk what to compare it to. Its mainly noticeable pulling into parking spots or my driveway. Ill have to measure it but its def not nearly as good as my last 1st gen with 33's. What about yours? Is pulling into a tight parking spot doable or do you have to 3 point?
