It's time. They stretched out as much of that story as they could.

 

Seemed like half ass, lazy writing with no long term vision to me. A wasted opportunity considering how the first season went.

Liked but let’s remember, Order 66 was made up decades after.

 

In regards to Dave Feloni, I do agree that he has the heart & certainly the love for Star Wars that has been lacking .
But, I also think that Feloni is too much of a fanboy to the prequel-era. I’m not keen on that era either.
I think bringing in characters that he’s created in Rebels, Bad Batch, Clone Wars/etc.. is great and is absolutely breathing new life into this sometimes very stale franchise. It’s just when they bring in stuff like the space-whales that I roll my eyes. I don’t particularly care for that kind of stuff, but, I’m also not going into chat rooms bashing anyone who enjoys it either.

And I 100% agree with about the space-magic being used as a “get out of jail for free” card. I think some of the strongest Star Wars that we’ve had since Disney took ownership was the SW material that had absolutely none/or very little Force-use/lightsabers(Andor , Rogue One).

I mean, it’s all Star Wars, so, I’ll be there to witness it. I just hope it’s something I want to re-watch, the same way I re-watched the original trilogy when I was a kid.

come to think of it, does anyone else feel like we would all appreciate & enjoy Star Wars more if there were less content coming out every year?!

 

I could handle less Star Wars if I got more Marvel.

I did and have. I loathe Hayden Christensen and the kid that played Anakin. I hate Rey and her stupid grin at the end of every sentence. I feel the Mando series has saved it for me. But, not to stray from the thread, I'm a huge Warhammer fan. Good luck to Henry Cavill, have no idea how your going to pull that universe off and the fanbase will kill you if you stray from lore.

 

Wait - they DID hire him? I thought that he lost Supes, Witcher, and Hammer.

 

last I heard, not only was he going to Star in it, he’s also actively helping develop the story/film .

I haven’t seen the newest D&D movie yet. But I keep hearing that it’s great because rather than trying to adapt a story or campaign, what they did was more like adapting the experience of having a misfit group handle these random, yet somewhat familiar situations that you could encounter in a D&D campaign.

I would imagine if you took this approach to the WH40K film, you would stand a better chance of making it an enjoyable/fan-pleasing film.

 

Agree, they could have done so much more with it. Even having only two seasons with a really good story is better than just keeping something going and going.

 

I disagree. I'll take the good and the bad. I wouldn't mind gaps between live action so much if they put out more books, but books are basically on hold until the shows catch up and they have stuff to work with.

 

What kills my joy for SWs trends is the miraculous come back from the dead after suffering fatal wounds.

That trick started after Qui Gon’s death. Seeing it Obi Wan just made me shake my head.

As for more vs. less content coming out, just keep stories where they should be. It gets confusing when Boba Fett season whatever turns into the Mandalorian S2.5.

 

Qui gon only came back as a force ghost that I recall and that was established as possible in empire strikes back with obi won when he did it. And then in revenge of the sith, yoda inferred that qui gon figured that shit out. So if his force ghost didn’t come back at some point, that would have been kinda odd.

 

This, I remember at the end of 3 Yoda telling Obi Wan he would teach him to commune with Qui Gon and it all made more sense.
