    Hi all,
around 9 months ago i had a shop do a drain and fill on my transmission, 2012 4 speed automatic, 4x4.

Just recently noticed when looking through my service records that they added WS fluid, at least according to the invoice "part 104945 ATF, Toyota OE WS" QTY 4

My owners manual says to use only Type T-IV for the 4 speed to avoid vibration, damage etc.

Curious what everyone thinks. Something to be concerned about? No big deal?

    Appreciate any advice,

    Thanks

To my knowledge WS is what you want to use.

    Should be type T4.

For the 5 speed automatic transmission yes. Not for the 4 speed which is what OP has.

I would go back to the people who did the fluid change see what they can do since it was their mistake. I would just have them flush it with Valvoline maxlife since it is WS and Type 4 compatible

yes I'll talk to them to see what they say. I'm wondering if it is bad for the transmission to have the WS mixed in there with the original fluid. I assume the type 4 is recommended for a reason.
