^So Toyota's EV concept from Nov 2021 had a tailpipe, but this 4th gen render doesn't?

where did you get this pic? if it looks like this that is cool looking truck!

I Just hope for a better sitting position for the driver and more rear seat space and of course for the engine to be reliable

It will also 100% need some type of sliders/running boards out of the gate. Where it has that edge under the cab mounted to the side of the frame - not sure what that area of the truck is called, but it appears to be quite an eyesore. I don't notice it much on the other year models.

This right here: Locally my dealer doesn't bring in many 4x4 Tacomas... I was a bit dumbstruck. They told me they sell a huge percentage of their allotment as fleet vehicles. You know, the bread and butter of what Toyota sells for is reliability and businesses hardly ever need extreme power or off road capability. They need a simple truck that will keep getting their people to the jobsite. Toyota won't let go of that huge cash cow.

I think that is the frame that you are seeing. It’s lit up strangely.
It looks like it’s already rusty too. :D

Similar arrangement on the manual transmission version of the FJ cruiser. Although that too is AWD/4WD, not auto.

I like it overall. But what is up with the big crease above the rear wheel well on the bed? And the crease on the side that's angled down in the front? Why do auto designers have to bend or angle every square inch of body now?

Check the spy photos again. Tailpipe comes out of the driver's side. Fuel tank is on the passenger side. Finally Toyota is paying attention to weight distribution. The fuel filler door is on the driver's side with the filler pipe going across the frame, like the 2022+ Tundra.

Interestingly, if it's the T24A engine, the exhaust port and turbo downpipe would be on the passenger side, so there would still need to be a crossover pipe.

Because it is just a render, they miss stuff.

like the tundra, looks like it will be on the drivers side now.

Guessing the fenders/bedsides wheel arches are wrong, those are pulled from the Trundra, from the shadow shots and teaser the Tacoma will have wider flares. My assumption is, since it is based on the Tundra chassis, the body of the Tacoma is narrower, since the track will be wider, they are making up with wider fender flares, and wheels that have been picture have quite the positive offset.

Has this already been discussed? It looks like there will be a dual exhaust or at least dual tips?

Yeah, especially in boards this long and how we bounced from the 4th gen to finance and back lol!

I'll skim a bit more or wait another month for them to tease the lug nuts

    Lol!

all the teasing is rather bullshit, just show us the damn thing already. Probably be a let down anyways, that is the one thing for sure Toyota USA is good at! Where’s that diesel and boxed frame after all these years!? uh? uh? :D :p

While they are at it, how’s about a 1 Ton Tundra, some of us are retiring soon, and have the need to tow a small apartment on wheels around.
