I think by "transformer" you mean a DC-DC converter (in case someone didn't want to go the battery route).
Something like the following (available via Amazon) which you adjust using a voltmeter to achieve the output voltage needed by the sender unit given a constant 12V input source.

I don't think the battery current draw would be much. Only possible issue could be if one of these converters creates significant radio frequency interference ("hash") that negatively impacts WiFi and/or BT and/or SirrusXM and/or AM/FM.
Pretty inexpensive to try it though.

Another option, more expensive of course, is to get a mirror replacement with the built-in transmitter. I believe they exist too.

 

I am about 5'10", and have a lower back issue. I'd try something like this, but I have difficulty getting into the seat to begin with because of how low the steering wheel sits and the way I have to get into the truck. Jacking the back of the seat could help entry and exit, but would be worse for my back, and no thanks, don't want to feel like I'm sliding forward.

 

A week ago I ordered a set of chinese knock off seat jacks from amazo for a sale price of $15 canadian shipped. Worth a test to see if they work for me when and if they arrive.

Well sitting in a hotel and pulled the trigger. Ordered the TRD Trail edition grill. Been wanting for a while and was a fair price online at Daytona Toyota plus free shipping. Hopefully will install next week.

I finally got and installed LED lighting to replace all the incandescent bulbs in the interior and the breaklights.

Kit came with lights for the licence plate too but I'm not going to burn my time to make the local PoPo's job easier.

 

Me too! If I don't like them I'll throw them in the mini van.

Reinstalled my OffRoam phone mount….

quick story….

I bought this mount and was quickly disappointed because it rattled even with the phone in it. I posted my issue on an instangram story just to inform people of the potential problem with this mount. OffRoam saw the story and contacted me. They replaced the product and had me send back the old one to be evaluated. No issues since. Good secure and sleek mount. I’m still not too happy with the price of it but that’s my only gripe.
