100% Agree. I'm so glad my parents raised me the right way. I've lived with a few roommates who's parents did everything for them. Cleaned for them, Cooked, payed for everything etc.. I don't consider myself to be a super mature guy, but jesus....... Apparently I've been a parent to 2 or 3 different dudes.

Oh well, I know if I ever have kids, I'll try to raise them the same way my parents raised me, heaven forbid they turn out to be a lazy piece of shit. Or a "I'm entitled to everything because I exist".

I had to work for everything I got in my life, my first car was an exception, but they originally bought it for my sister. Once she crashed it, and get a Mercedes, I had to beg to keep the car (93 Toyota Celica) around so I could rebuild it, and claim it as my own.

 

Oh Boy, it happened.....
Now I'll just have to change it again in 4 years.

 

Just waiting on my damn Geissele trigger to get in, and I can partially assemble my new SBR. Well, minus the stock and VFG. Hopefully my form 1 doesn't take forever.

Yes-this to me makes a difference.

 

Max mowed, picked up sticks and helped out our elderly neighbors one summer to earn his first shotgun. The next year he earned a .30-.30. Now that he needs a truck and gas money this year they pay cash. We provide food, shelter and medical anything else he wants he hustles doing odd jobs. He hand split about 15 cords of wood between 3 places last summer. Last month he blew me away and out of the blue bought me a pair of work boots to pay me back for the ones I bought him last summer. Not bad for a 15 year old. We remind him that when he’s 18 he’s on his own and we will help with hand ups not hand outs.

On topic, I got a light and forend coming for my M4. Hoping to sign up for the advanced shotgun class down at Seattle Firearms this year.

 

Ya, my parents helped me out for a bit longer, I moved out at 23. But if I lived in the house I had to have a full time job and goto school. Funny thing is, I made more money then, than I do now

 

Money was worth more and you were taxed less.

I had my buddy who's only hobby is guns help me build it. All I know is the trigger, sionics bcg, radian safety switch, centurion lower, magpul furniture (if that's what you call it on an ar) mbus pro sights, aems green dot, streamlight something something 1500 lumen light, and whatever else he got

 

As a transplant from California (to Washington in Feb '22), I meant to leave it behind when I came. But it seemed it followed.


But, I got a few things I couldn't when I was there:

De-nudered the AR
Gucci'd out the Glock 17
Grabbed a Glock 43X once I past the 90-day residence wait.
and got all the fixings I could before bans went into affect.

 

What dots on the 43x?

Sig Romeo zero. Was actually hesitant on getting a dot for it because it’s a carry gun, but no complaints yet. Still haven’t put rounds through it either because I haven’t found a place to plink.

 

Maybe we’ll get lucky and everyone will be stubborn and not budge forcing this thing to die… long shot but there’s a chance.

If nothing else it buys a few more days for those final panic purchases.
