V1 installed today. No pics I left my phone in my truck and it was on the lift. I was tired after I got done servicing my truck. I looked closely at my driver side and it is not touching the cat shield but is close. I tried to make the converter cover touch the shield by pushing on it. My converter did not move. But I did not use my retard strength. I drove 10 miles on dirt roads with bumps at 40 mph. Heard nothing then drove 60 miles on interstate. Backed down a big steep hill on dirt road tried 4x4. So far so nothing.
What type of driving on V1 caused noise.

Ok, that right there is funny. I laughed out loud.

Good to hear it's working for you. I plan on installing my V1 version this weekend. With no issues.

I heard reports of rattling when idling and in reverse from what I can remember. Mine was intermittent at low speeds. It sounds to me that you are one of the lucky ones who's not going to experience any issues with noise. I'm glad it worked out for you, seems like you did a thorough test.

I hope so I do have some concerns about it being close. I assume my the exhaust hangers will wear and over time causing the cat to move some. But I do feel safer. I do not carry full coverage. Other than that did oil grease and tire rotation. No leaks except for overflow hose shows signs of seeping. I look at that tomorrow after I recover from today. I have a long bed 2017 with 26000 miles. I would think that there is no difference in the exhaust that far forward with a regular bed.

Read through this whole thread and didn't see any response on this question. Registered just to ask this same question :)

Anyone with an RCI transmission skid install these cat shields and can confirm they play nice together? I'm concerned the edges of the skid that angle up will interfere with the install of the cat shields.

'19 TRD OR DCSB (if that matters).

    Thanks!

****V2 set out the door, still have V1

Fwiw I’ve got a set of V1 that are boxed up and taking up precious room in my garage. I can’t fathom sending all this stainless steel to the landfill.

Would anybody like to give them a shot?

Obviously they’ll more than likely need modification, however they may not as we’ve seen sets working flawlessly from the get go and well, others not so much.
Shoot me a dm if you’re interested, I can get you box dims and weight and you can send me a shipping label or something like that.

I have the older version of the rci skid, modified with the sides angled vertically - not exactly sure how different it is from the new style.

Anyone have/concerned about torque specs on the transmission support bolts?

Or are the specs just "goodntight"?

    For the torque nerds.
I chose to reuse the OEM bolts and opted out of the Cali raised security bolts.

    * OEM bolts
Cross support bar bolts: 33 Nm/24 ft lb
Transmission support bolts 40 Nm/30 ft lb

Shout out to AZphys13 for the help

Just wanted to give a shout out to CaliRaised for sending me V2 for my 22' DCLB 4x4!

I submitted a warranty claim on their website last Friday, due to the driver side cat touching the Cat shield and the vibrations seeming to be more constant. On Tuesday, they approved of the warranty claim, stating that some of the later model Catalytic converters hung a little lower than earlier models and by the end of the week I had V2.

Now V2 is a perfect fit for my 22'. It hangs a good 2-3" below that cat, it's also a little shorter so the bump stop touches the frame, and everything is now tight and secure. Also, I love the way V2 installs vs the V1 installation. You probably don't have the lift the truck up on the V2 for installation.

Very happy with the communication, and the warranty process with CaliRaised!

Just installed my V2s. Had to tweak the front bend just a bit as it was only lightly touching the frame. Cats are not touching the plate, everything was nice and easy. The few problems I had with my order were immediately fixed. Great support team, quality product.

Gave away my V1s and no issues on the truck they’re installed on. Glad they were put to good use and not just binned.

CaliRaisedShield.jpg I was in TW jail for a month (lotta tender souls here, it seems :);)) but ended up receiving the Cali Raised shields after about 8 weeks. Seems to be V.2 Installed without (and didn't come with) the spacers or new cross member bolts. I like 'em and very easy to install. I didn't use the security bolts as I didn't want to worry about keeping that security bit and I figured if some little darling wants it bad enough, then those security bits won't do :crapstorm:.

Have followed this thread since Jan. Ordered Feb 16, delivered April 10 and installed April 14 (with lots of swearing, anger and disappointment but only because I'm an idiot). Came back to this thread last night after a quick FSR trek and got scared reading some of the postings.

Went to examine things first thing this morning and all is good, zero issues, zero rubbing, no marks on the drive shaft, u-joint or the cat shield - all is good for me.

Yesterday's trek was approx 120 highway miles, 43-ish FSR miles in 4H - of which 5 was steep incline, 18 miles of decent condition FSR and 20 miles that were a grueling slog on a seriously neglected stretch marked as "High Clearance 4x4 only". Lots of pitching & yawing with some unintentional hard hits but wheels, tires and plastic bumper trim still intact. And zero issues with the Cali Raised LED's cat shields. No contact with the driver's side cat, drive shaft or u-joint. No buzzing. No rattling.

The idiot part - I didn't realize the design had changed between the time I ordered and what was delivered. The swearing part - I had book marked and reviewed a few of the "V1" installs videos and was having a heck of a time trying to get them over the transmission cross-bar:annoyed:.

Note to self - ALWAYS refer back to the manufacturer's install guide immediately before changing yet another thing on this 2021 TRD Sport DCLB.

Here's a picture of the driver's side I took this morning. The clean wing is from me feeling for signs of contact that shouldn't be there. There's at least 1/2 inch gap between the wing and u-joint knuckle.
