Can anybody help me find a set of aftermarket wheels that fit our truck? I do not understand how to tell if it will rub on the face of the caliper or not? I have now bought two sets of wheels that both contact that caliper

So basically 9 inch wide wheel needs -12 offset, and 8 inch wide wheel needs -6 offset OR LESS (meaning -4, -2, 0, 5, 10 etc)....if you go more, you run the risk of hitting the UCA

Enter your Tacoma info on Discount Tire website...then shop for all wheels...their compatibility is pretty accurate. Or as others suggested, you need to search the tire/wheel section and look for known wheels that fit.
It is just they way Tacomas are made, not every wheel design you want is going to fit. Same goes for other vehicles, but Tacomas are extra finicky.
16x8.5 -6 Offset and 4.51 backspace. Zero rub/issues. Good Luck

What wheels are those? And do they fit without spacers?

No, twice now I have bought wheels that rub on the face of the caliper and I do not understand how to tell what will fit.

Level 8, Trackers, they dont make them anymore. But you might find someone that still has them in stock.
This look almost identical and should fit your Tacoma. https://www.discounttire.com/buy-wheels/g-fx-tr-16
No wheel spacers. Only fools use those.

What were the specs on the wheels you bought? That will explain it.
Stop buying and trying...and research and study then buy with no issue.

You need the proper offset to back spacing on the wheel. I'm not sure where u are buying these rims but any tire shop should inform you if they fit or not. 16 or 17s work. 17s obviously gives more space. 4.5 to 5.5 backspace is usually what most aftermarket wheels have.
