We'll get back to the truck talk soon enough, once the financials and infighting get boring. This is all Toyotas fault.

"Infighting"? What Infighting?? I only see Discussions going on, and if most followed from the beginning, they will see that all the Financial Discussion is is ALL CONNECTED to the Gen4 Tacoma.

We were talking about how Expensive Gen4s are going to be, and how do we go abouts Financing them. I myself believe all Home Owners should have a truck, don't need fancy, we just need a truck, and there is NOTHING wrong with having a very nice Truck as our only vehicle. However! It sucks that a once working man's vehicle such as a Tacoma, have now become a BOURGEOISIE vehicle.

Gen4 Tacomas will be BOURGEOISIE trucks for Big City Folks who like to have an outdoor image. I hate to say to even admit that the Gen4s are going to be an ELITIST Truck now for the Boogzhie.

I myself probably will get a Gen4 Offroad TRD verison and won't even really taking "Off Roading", so I am NOT helping going against that Boozhie image HAHAHA.

Then again, these days using a very nice Truck that is our Primary Vehicle for Offroading is just lame and retarded because we have Polaris Offroad Utility Vehicles available, and they are much more fun and can do so much better Offroading than any Big Truck. These days, I get all my "Racing" and "offroad" fix by Downhill Mountain Biking (at the Ski Resorts with lifted services).

OK, now I just talked myself into 100% ALL-IN on the Gen4 Tacoma, however, even I know my mind might change in 2 weeks.

I mean gen 2 and 3s already got that description. You know how many fully modded gen 2s I see driving around Denver? I’m talking full plate bumpers, winches, 35’s, king shocks, RTT, awning etc. They are always super clean and have no dents or scratches. Same with the 4Runner bros and 3rd gens. Some people like credit card debt and wanna flex on strangers.

Sorta agree with ya that the Tacoma is no longer a working man’s truck. They do make a basic 2WD model that has a base under $30K. All the added options including 4WD is fluff. Will say, because of the Bro crowd, the base models have gotten awfully nice. My 3rd Gen SR has more goodies on it, than my top of the line at the time 1st Gen. Assuming the base SR will have a turbo 4 (like what GM and Ford are doing) which isn’t a bad thing. Guessing around $35K…not cheap, but hey everything is expensive anymores.

Being a homeowner plus having a few rental properties, you don’t need a truck. Hell, you could get by with only a bicycle and have it stuff delivered, or pay someone else to do it then write it off. Much cheaper than buying a truck.

Shoot, the hardware store is only a mile from us, can walk there for parts for fixing leaking faucets.

I have Trust in Toyota. Every New Gen Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner were great, so I trust this new Gen4 Tacoma will be the same.

So true! These days a Truck is not so much needed as Delivery is so easy. Trust me, I know! I have been without a truck for 4 months now (after having owned one for 30 year), and I too survived just fine without a truck LOL, and I probably can survive until the end. However, it is nice to have a truck for convenience.

I do need a blizzard vehicle though, so also considering a 4Runner or Forrester; but I really want to see what the new Gen4, and right now that is my front runner.

Have been driving for 40 years, always had a truck. For sure use the hell out of it. We have been moving shit for the past couple weeks, has been super handy. Of course a Subaru and an utility trailer would work too. Almost bought a Forester, but it didn’t have quite the towing capacity I wanted. Plus the Taco is a wee bit better for camping. I ride dirt bikes, the Suby wouldn’t pull a 5X10 enclosed very well. Though my buddy has an Outback, has the same 5X8 open trailer that I have, pulls it fine. Of course his Wilderness Suby cost as much or more as my Taco, and gets about the same shitty mileage while towing, so there is that…

I don't want a vehicle with 100k miles on it. Used Toyotas are kinda a rip off, better to just buy new. Beside, I just like to buy new, and to me it is OK to buy new if I plan to keep a vehicle for 10 years or longer. I actually was OK with my 17 year old Titan and would have still kept it if it did NOT totally bonk on me (with Fuel issues that seemed unfixable). I decided it was time I just dumped it, so now here I am.

Unless you are putting big or dirty things in the bed I would get the 4Runner or Forrester. Both are better in the snow and more convenient and comfortable.

Me too! I am currently building up a Commencal Supreme, can't wait to test it out at Keystone. I like Trestle a lot also, but to me that place is better for my MegatowerV2 and BronsonV3 than my DH bikes.

I have lived on and off and on the Front Range (of Colorado) for 20 years, so I have a lot of History with Colorado. Right now for the past 16 years my primary residence is in the Vegas area. My closest Ski Resort Bike Park is Lee Canyon (1 hour away), Snow Summit (4 hours away), and Brianhead (4 hours away). All decent places, but does NOT compare to Keystone or Trestle. I even want to hit up Snowmass Aspen this year, as well as Steamboat, I hear both places also have awesome Bike Parks.

To keep this on topic with Tacomas, here is my 2000 Tacoma that I got rid of in 2006 (Traded it in for a Full Size Titan). This picture was also in Colorado, at Pueblo Motorsport Park. I was towing a lot back then, so needed a Full Size Truck hence the only reason I got rid of the Tacoma. Before this Tacoma, I also had a 1981 Toyota SR5, another great truck! and that 1981 Toyota is still in the "family" and still running to this day.

In my extended Family, we seem to only buy Toyotas, and I really want my next vehicle to be a Toyota, so the Subaru Forrester is most likely will be a NO GO for me, but my mind may change in 2 months.
