A little something every chance we get.
if you have it, and you are on Medicare. You NEED to have a real, modern unit. Make them trade up.

Or I'll come kick some butt.

I went to a sleep clinic in 2007 and managed to "score" an AHI reading of 75; my doctor asked me why I wasn't dead yet. :p

In 2007 I ended up with a Respironics REMstarPro M-Series which served me well; I didn't know these machines were supposed to be retired after no more than 5 years, and when I discovered that little factoid it was 2022! Last year I upgraded to a ResMed AirSense 10 Card-to-Cloud unit; great unit and a heck of a lot easier to pack than the old REMstarPro; I cannot recommend the AirSense 10 enough.

    No medicare until Jan '24

I can track the daily info by getting it off the machine each day... If I miss, then I'm SOL as it only shows the current day / week / or month

Actually no, they don't. Last year in reaction to the "chip shortage", a "card-to-cloud" version was marketed (as mentioned above, I have one), and it has no wireless capabilities.

Not sure I understand; the information is available, you just need to sneakernet it to your computer.

OK, mine came equipped a few years back. I know it's widely covered. You know a secret for @ImpulseRed008 to connect, or get such unit?

I only pulled information off my AirSense 10 twice (the first and second nights I used it last year), and only a handful of times off my REMstarPro over the 15 years I used that machine. Off the top of my head I don't remember the exact procedure, I'll look into it tomorrow.

Are folks pulling data daily just for curiosity's sake, or is there some need for the data?

For all of you with ResMed AirSense 10 or 11 and some other units you can record and track your nightly data on an app called ResMed MyAir. Once set up it automatically records nightly the following - number of hours use/sleep, mask seal, AHI (apnea hypopnea index) which is the number of apneas and hypopneas average per hour, and number of mask offs per night. It keeps the information for months or longer. Once you set it up your machine automatically transmits the data an hour or so after you wake up each morning. You can go into the app if you want every day and see your information. And you can see the data going back months. Medicare can use the information too. If you have one of those machines you really should set up the app.
People really should check their data daily, it’s the only way to know how well CPAP therapy is working.
Oh and by the way, Medicare will pay for a new CPAP machine every 5 years.

I just set up an account and no, it does not send the data, per the app, my machine doesn't do it. I wish it did

Only certain newer machines like airsense can you use the MyAir app. Most older machines have a memory card which companies like Apria can read and print out the data. The memory card stores months of data.I suggest going through Apria (they are nation wide) they will walk you through the entire process to get anew CPAP thru Medicare. You will need a doctors request for a new CPAP. . Have the doctor specify airsense 11 and that’s what Medicare will pay for. Apria will tell you exactly what you need to go thru the process

All you people using so much energy keeping records about how healthy you were yesterday might consider using some of that time to plan what fun activities you'll be doing tomorrow.
My biggest disappointment lately is not budgeting my time to do my bucket list while I was still fit enough. Number one: Rafting the Colorado, the 11 day paddle version. Now I'd need a helicopter rescue after the first day.

Seems like there should be an APP to keep track of the info on your phone. Easier to show to the doc in the office that way. I do it for my diabetes.

Good morning. Off to the gym then home to make some tomato soup. My niece's daughter is having a first Birthday party today. Good Times!

    Re: CPAP

I'm going to have to read the recent posts here on these, I'm sure there's a wealth of knowledge here.

Reason is my wife (65 y.o.) is going to be scheduled for an at home sleep study, her snoring has become an issue. Our primary physician is perplexed. Mrs. SpruceMica has none of the usual sleep apnea indicators. BP is usually 90/60, 116 lbs, former triathlete, former marathoner. Snores on her back, her side, her stomach. My suspicion is her dentist molded dental night guard is affecting her jaw alignment and thus her airway. Dentist (of 30 yrs) says no...but you're a dentist not an ENT specialist.
