Well I can tell you on my one way 300 mile trip to pick up my new trailer, dude pulls hills way better . I went over mt. hood this morning, obviously with no trailer and zoomed right over the pass . As of now I'm gonna be heading over mt hood with my new trailer 1600lbs



Truck and trailer 7300lbs . I stopped at scales before I left bend Oregon

 

With the spacer is there enough slack on hoses etc. to maintain everything else stock?

 

Going to be painting that new trailer Inferno? That is a sweet little setup.

 

And those mileage #’s with your setup is impressive? I’d say KDMAX tune has a lot to do with it. I know my truck is benefiting from it!

 

Putting my manifold spacer on tomorrow. I plan on doing a thread showing the installation of it.

The spacer helped a lot for keeping good rpms she held steady on steep grades . I got down to 3rd gear holding 55 to 60 mph one time but it was pretty steep and pulling the trailer.

 

@shotgunbilly420 did you post the dyno results? With a reminder of all the upgrades you have, thats helping with this great mpg's your getting.. Maybe i missed it..

 

Yeah I'm 100% sure all my performance mods are what get me my good mpgs . Dyno results are not 100% though. I didn't have gear lock flashed so results are not best they can .

 

Updated VFtuner then flashed it from Lite to Normal +AGM throttle…gotta get used to it again. I go back to Lite during winter.

 

@PapaRee do you think there’s a benefit to reflashed every time the Fuel blend at the pump changes from different seasons? Just curious…

I have the rear cats deleted , stock exhaust, ripp performance coils, afe throttle body spacer, k&n performance intake with Blackhawk synthetic dry filter, oil catch can , recently added oil catch can on passenger valve cover, run premium 92 octane , change my oil every 5k mi or less, service my transmission once a year regardless of miles , service all gear oil including transfer case once a year regardless of miles , stock gearing , and run a tank of Chevron fuel system cleaner every 3k mi. I think that covers about all of it.

 

No benefit, but if you have the vftuner software and the files (like you ) I would. The truck is constantly learning/adjusting, so a fresh flash of the tune gives it a fresh start.

So out of 600 miles round trip I was getting 20mpg on my trip to bend Oregon. Used a tank and a half about $151 in gas.

 

I do not clear the learned values unless there is a problem. But some people do it every time they flash their truck. It’s up to you.
