Did you take it apart to wrap the red inlays?

Not the person you're quoting, but I wrapped my pro knob as well and did NOT need to take it apart to get the overlays done. You just need to be slow, careful, and use a heat gun to get the corners/crevices.

That being said, it probably would have been much easier to take it apart to wrap it. Like everything else in the Taco, these knobs can be disassembled fairly easily, check out Youtube for good tutorials

Yes, the outer cover has two clips on the bottom rear and one on the top front. Then the red pieces are removable. It took some heat to wrap the red pieces, but it wasn't too difficult.

Gold plugs in the differentials. Get rid of those Allen head plugs and upgrade to hex head with a stronger magnet.

Did a couple little things today I had been waiting for warmer weather to do. Put yellow Lamin-X film over my fog lights, I am very impressed with the look and quality of the film. Went on easily without taking the lights out and I made a putty knife out of soft thin plastic to tuck the edges all down good. I had no problems with wrinkles or bubbles, this was super easy and looks great!

Then I sealed around the tailgate with P strip. There are a couple more spots around the tonneau cover where light escapes when I hit the squid launcher button in the dark, but around the top sides of the tailgate was the worst area. All good now I am looking forward to checking it when it gets dark tonight.

I need to do this. I have gaps that drive me nuts between the tailgate and my topper

I did it mainly to cut down on dust getting in on my gear, I drive on forest service dirt roads a lot.

I need to do this for the same reason. Did you apply it to the tailgate or the bed side? Also, where did you get it from?

Yep, same here. What size p strip did you get? Also any thought on how you are going to seal the area between your tailgate and the cover at the corners?

I put it on the tailgate, you just eyeball the gap you need to fill and that will tell you where to stick it. For mine the pinch weld rim up the sides of the tailgate was the perfect straight edge to adhere it to. I used P Type automotive weather stripping, you can get it on Amazon or ebay. I got mine off Temu because I was buying other junk at the same time.

I haven't got to the corners yet, but yeah that is a problem area. Maybe some P strip on the tonneau cover with the tail sticking down. The P strip I got didn't have size choices, you can see a piece of it sitting on the tailgate here.

I actually just sealed up those corners, and across the whole front bed rail this weekend using butyl tape. It's used for RVs. Home Depot, or Amazon sells it. Sticky AF, but you just lay down/stack strips of it where ya want and work it into place. Be ready to F*** up the tips your fingers. I got blisters within blisters, but worth it. Just held up very well thru the 1st rainstorm. Bone dry except for 1 little whole I found that needs plugged.

Tailgate area is next..looks like I need to order some P strip.

edit: Read that quote wrong. Thought you meant the front corners of the bed...Anywho, there's a tip for up front

Thanks! It’s not a one-of-a-kind but it is hard to get. It’s a 9 banger flash grenade. Had it drilled out and powder coated black. Not sure if anyone sells the metal body of the grenade inert, otherwise it’s gonna be hard to get.
