except they had websites taken down before notifying the website owners of the trademark infringement. I’m sure most companies would have complied without issue if they were given notice. Lots of these companies are small 1-3 employee shops that design/manufacture parts. These are guys who likely know less about business than they probably should but I still feel Traxxass could have handled it better.

We don't know that. Likely, all were served at the same time. However, if you are a provider, you are protected from what your subscribers do under the DMCA so long as you do the following:
    • not obtain financial benefit from the infringement
    • not have actual knowledge or awareness of the infringement
    • upon learning of an infringement, act quickly to remove or disable access to the infringement, and
    • implement a policy of terminating the accounts of subscribers who are repeat infringers.
So this is why you see ISP's disabling accounts.

Not accurate. Traxxas also picked on companies that had absolutely nothing to do with anything that Traxxas makes. No mods, no upgrades, not even two xx's in the word Max/Maxx. Just simply calling a model the "Max Smasher" (single "x" there) was suddenly verboten.
Traxxas is trying to obtain absolute rights to the word "max".
What's next? Is Toyota gonna be bullied into removing the word "Max" from the fan control on the vehicle hvac? Mine says"Min" and then 3 or 4 dots and "Max" on the fan control.

An example right here of what they did. FMS is their own company and makes no mods or upgrades for any other company other than FMS, or the subsidiary, Rochobby.

Screw Traxxas, I was turned off to their models from the very beginning because of the proprietary battery bs. Never owned one, never will.
That being said, if someone wants or owns one or more of their models, then good for them. They do make decent stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if some start boycotting their models though.

What’s “not true”? The companies they sent letters to, they believe are infringing. It’s that simple. Doesn’t matter what their business is.

Companies like HBO have lawyers too and they get to defend their clients use. Maybe they will settle and be granted license or maybe the courts will tell them to pound sand. By no means has the fat lady sung.

My dad died in May and I have been going through his things. He has a bunch of older .049 engines and a handful of bigger engines and a remote control plane that looks like a piper cub type of plane. Is there any value to this stuff or is it junk at this point. The airplane is probably 25 years old and has some damage to the wing.

Always some value but likely not what you’d think. If no interest in them try a local hobby shop and find a group of model aviators. They may buy them off of you at a decent retail price. I wouldn’t attempt to learn how to fly on the older plane cause it’s a recipe for destroying it.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but Traxxas didnt go to the companies - but the companies ISP's. Some ISP's were good and alerted who they were hosting others werent (see ccxrc) and their websites were taken down. The people that got a heads up from their ISP's were able to update their website and continue business as usual.

Does anybody know of any 1.2x1.55 wheels or tires? This is the size for the yeti jr, and I'm finding out I need to address the tires. Is there a way to clean up the old glue on the wheels and tires and remount them? The tread is okay, but the glue is a bit old and starting to crumble. Now with the addition of 3s, the tires are getting ripped right off of the rim. This seems to be a pretty oddball size, so I haven't had much luck finding anything other than the one tire axial still makes for the Can Am version. RC4WD does make a 1.2 tire for LEGO wheels, but I don't know how feasible and or reasonable it would be to stretch a 1.2 tire on a 1.2x1.55 wheel. Has anyone tried something similar with 1/10 short course wheels? Worst comes to worst, I can mess around with the 3D printer and make my own 1.2 wheels for the RC4WD tires.

these might work pretty good. A couple mm taller and a bit narrower. My Yeti measures about 33mm wide and 83mm tall.

These would look bad ass if they will clear the front at full lock. And if your gearing will allow it.

    Paired with these wheels maybe.

When I had mine I used a set of Losi Mini Crawler wheels and the smallest Chinese 1.9 I could find.

I have those wheels on my WPL hilux, so I could test fit them, but the size of the available tires is what I'm concerned about. Right now, the stock tires are 68mm, so making the jump to 85mm+ would look pretty cool, but would be a bit too extreme for the body. The smallest 1.55 tires I could find are RC4WD Dirt Grabbers at 76mm which might be worth a try.

That looks really cool, and those tires fit the body really well. I have the trophy truck body though, so I'm severely limited on tire size unless I want to cut pockets for them to pop up through lol.

Just for reference, this is how the current tires balloon up which is already pretty bad, and you can see the tires coming off the wheel haha. Sorry for the low quality, but these are just screenshots of a paused video I took. kind of shows why I'm trying to keep the tire size as close to stock as possible.

After reading all of this stuff, I would be surprised if traxxas hasn't gone after Chrysler for using TRX on the Ram pickup.
Unless traxxas got paid that is.

I think they have gone after people they believe are infringing but who are in very different industries. HBO is a great example. When they applied for their trademarks, Traxxas was given the opportunity to object and didn't. HBO is into a lot of other markets like toys and games. Still, I'm pretty sure no one will confuse HBO for Traxxas and as you might imagine, HBO won't back down. HBO was supposed to respond in March but I don't see anything about that so maybe they're still talking?

idk. I don't care for the influence lawyers have these days. Almost an embarrassment but they've become a necessity sadly.

The (Max) Smasher showed up today :headbang: :luvya:Traxxas:D

Does nose wheelies and nose stands, back and front flips, has the updated tx/rx combo with adjustable drag brake and forward/reverse setting. Came with open metal diffs but going to replace the rear only with a spool (pictured, came with the kit) and fill the shocks with a few drops of peanut oil.
Bezo's should be delivering a few needed upgrade parts, Treal brass wheel hexes, driveshafts and al-u-minium drag and steering links for it on Thursday.
It's 1mm longer wheelbase than the Power Wagon, same platform/frame, motor. Big mudder tires and sweet chrome deeeeeep dish wheels.

They do sell them in black.

I'm debating on whether to leave them silver or rattle them to a true gunmetal.
