    i have a vibration, from 90-100kmh.

but goes away when it’s -20°c

comes back every time when weather warms up to around 0°c

    what could it be?

it’s a weird one. i wish it would just get worse so i can track it down better. been managing all winter as most cold days the vibration was gone.

    unjoints good
    carrier bearing ok
    wheel bearings good

-feel it in steering wheel and seat, varies from day to day.

-smooth up to 80km, then gets progressively worse up to the 100km.

-letting off gas and neutral, really rumbles till slowing down to 80km

-gets a little smoother after 30mins on the highway

I've been chasing this same riddle and hit it with the wrench and the purse, my suggestion; crank some tunes. It's befuddling but yea Idk. Between that and the mystery clunk in my front end, it's enough to wear on your nerves. Have roadside on the ready lol

I would think tires, they behave wildly different when subjected to different temps.

Shocks also get stiffer when cold.

Mine was fine when the truck was cold, but if the trans fluid warmed to 50*C or so, it came in on low/med power take off. I swapped my trans fluid (full flush) at the dealer for $400CAD, vibes gone.

That's probably it. I've just run into this issue for the first time, and it's the longest I've left my winters on. (Next paycheque I'm buying new tires)

i have rear shocks on the shelf along with many other parts for my 05. shocks were my next guess. i’m not convinced it’s tire related, but obviously havnt ruled it out

tires would make a vibration worse if frozen no? i had the whole square tire feel in -30 then after a few miles the truck would be smooth as glass compared to how it feels around 0°c

finally replaced my carrier bearing. original seemed ok but it clearly wasn’t because my truck is smooth as glass now. the yoke was a bitch to knock off, but the hammer was the tool of the day today. probably runs better on the highway now then it did when i first bought it. regreased the slip joint as well. pretty happy guy over here with my 360,000km ‘05 trd
