I bought this Relentless Fab tailgate reinforcement a year ago and my dumbass thought I'd save some money and paint it myself. I forget if I used primer or not but I remember I used Rust-Oleum truck bed coating spray. How can I prevent the paint peeling like this in the future? What should I do now to correct this? Wondering if I just need to sand everything down and start over.

Trying to fit a 275/70/17 spare under the truck. It's pretty snug here now but I'm worried that I can't get it all the way up in the spare wheel well. Do ya'll think this is an issue? I tried hammering out the two clamps but they didn't budge much. Thinking of grabbing a torch to ease the metal up a bit and having another go at it.

Deflate the tire some or completely (if you have a compressor onboard). And pull it back towards the hitch while you bring it up

Finally got the Pro Shift Knob Illumination installed, and I love it.
I also tied it into the security light as you can see from the pictures (blue for interior and red for the security).
I tied the blue interior LED to be on when I have my headlights on. I installed LEDs in the cup holders and rear center console so it was easy to just tape into that wiring.
Not sure what the difference is between the AT and MT but I did not have to drill a hole in the collar to pass the wires through.

I used a 27oz dead blow hammer and they moved significantly with less than 10 whacks each. Pulling the spare rearward while lifting as mentioned above also helps.
This is what my 285/70r17 looks like fully inflated:
Edit: this is also with the lifter relocate linked several posts below

I have a KO2 spare in that size. The tire shop couldn’t get it to fit but I just got under the truck and shimmied it side to side while essentially bench pressing it and got it to squeak into the spot. I probably bent something in the process but it fits.

    I opened my tailgate.

My office chair hydraulic piston is entering a failing stage after 3 years. I considered swapping the Taco stock OR shocks for 51xx/61xx and use the original as a chair system, but I figured you would say they are not enough.

So bought a new office chair instead ... Tempurpedic seatpad which is very comfortable so I just bought another one of the same model.

Just a bit easier than transporting in a Corolla.

I installed the Hypertech speedometer calibrator. It corrected the difference caused by the 33” tires I installed as advertised.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
Strip it off completely, prepare the surface (it needs to be slightly rough to allow for good paint adhesion) then spare no expense on the primer and paint you choose, it really does make a difference. Seek advice from the paint representative of the brand of your choosing (Sherwin Williams for example) and they can easily offer you the best solution for your material and environment.

Seeing if I need the back up light glare reducer. Technically it’s gorilla tape. And blocking 1/2 the backup light slot does reduce the glare when I reverse.
