    Some might call it camping, but this was an Elk hunting trip with my dad to Grand Teton/Yellowstone in October / November 2000. We were there for 4 weeks. First week it was in the 50's, beautiful weather. Then winter hit with a sledgehammer. Next 3 weeks it was down to -20*F overnight and never got above 20*F in the day time. That was by far the coldest hunt I ever went on. And the longest. I was on sabbatical from work, 8 weeks of time off. This is our normal hunt camp. My dad's WW2 Army surplus tent, homemade wood stove for heat.

    These pictures were taken with a disposable 110 pocket camera, so they are not the greatest quality. My dad's '96 (I think?) Toyota on the left in the bottom picture.

    Good Morning all.
    We had our girl x-rayed last week and it's definitely cancer in her front leg. Only 8 years old and we are going to have to put her down this week probably. She's really limping and x-rays show bone loss. She has already outlived most dogs with this, as we took her in last fall and the vet said it looked like cancer. Most dogs only last a couple of months. I don't know why I'm sharing this- maybe it helps me process it.

    We had snow overnight. The place we were camping had 9in of snow as of 10 o'clock last night. It wasn't snowing when we left. Todays temps are going to be 50 degrees colder than last Friday.:goingcrazy:


    Sorry, I've been out twice already.

    I've been telling people that the cold temps we had in Utah just added to the Adventure.
