Leveling Kit & Tire Suggestions Needed

I am currently on my phone trying to search for direct answers but I am getting no luck. No idea why. Anyway, my father has a 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD 2WD crewcab. He is wanting to install 285/70/17 BFG All Terrain tires on his factory 17" wheels. With the Blisteen 5100 front adjustable and rear shocks installed, will that wheel size fit with no rubbing? What are my options?

He is hoping to just stay in the leveled look rather than go taller.

 

If he sets the billys at 2.5", trims some fender well plastic (also might need to chop the cab mount), and runs wheel spacers, then he can fit the 285/70/17's.

He'll need some sort of lift for the rear too though if he wants to be level.

What is the recommended lift for the rear? Blocks? AAL's?

 

I would recommend an AAL. 1.5" should level him out.

 

i got a 2.5" spacer lift in the front and the 1.5" aal in the back.

i fit 285/55R20 with no rubbing, no trimming, no choping. could be also because the 20's are about 9.5 inchs wide but the 17's are only about 8 to 8.5 if i'm not mistaken.

 

What is the suggested wheel spacer size for stock wheels? From All Pro Offroading they offer 1.25" and 1.5" wheel spacers.

Good choices. The AllPro wheel spacers link doesn't work, but make sure they are hub-centric. If not, you can get 1.25" spidertrax ones that are.

 

I gotcha. Do you think I will have to have the rear AAL's in order for it to be leveled and fit 285's with the Bilsteins?

 

You won't need the AAL to fit the tires, but you'll be nose-high with 2.5" lift up front and the rear stock.
