The bushings aren't replaceable is the worst part about them, well that and they're only 3/16, the Ruff stuff is all 1/4

I think TG actually sell the bushings separately now

i wouldn't be too worried about breaking the 3/16 but I have a record of breaking shit that shouldn't lol

That's a pet peeve of mine. One of the worst is when something has hole cutouts for bolts to line up with the threaded holes on whatever piece you're attaching to and they're off like a damned eighth of an inch.

Never heard of these folks but popped up on the poly motor mount googles:

People collapse the roughly 3/16 motor mount bracket on the 5VZ so I wouldn't be too sure

Those are something, but they certainly don't inspire any confidence, they look like swap mounts.

    Yeah didn't look very robust.
Is there more vibration when using the polys btw?

Yeah usually, I really liked the more positive feel though, taking off from a stop was more immediate rather than loading up all the rubber before grumbling into motion.

Has anyone used a 40 weight conventional oil on a 5VZ, like Delo or Rotella? Everyone raves about them for the 1FZ, but I’m not sure if the 3.4 would like it or not.

After this rat situation I've low-key thought about selling the truck because it's going to sit for long periods between drives. I'm going to see what happens after I fix it. But that other little voice is whispering, "Well if I bought something I'd drive more often and split the week with the wagon...then less ratty. Ya know, perhaps something short and German with two doors." lol

Also put more traps out and ordered some boxes and sonic spikes.

It did help with oil consumption a bit with the 4.5. I have 10w-40 high mileage in it now, but that stuff is hard to find for some reason.

Pack rats? I’ve heard those are a big issue out in Arizona, haven’t heard much about them around here though .

I never saw a damn rat while in AZ, I saw more baby Coyotes than I did vermin.

I saw tons of diamondback rattlers when I used to spend the summers out by Tucson.

Norway rats. Big problem at the oceanfront, just been lucky until late last year.

I only took one picture of scenery while there...

Rest of my time was spent working on vehicles and planning my escape, it's a depressing place filled with copy/paste scenery and houses.

Every time I've looked at this I get the answer that OEM is stiff enough and if you want more you go solid
