Yeah I have experienced "informed" people a lot given where I live. Scientific, fact-checked, peer reviewed... They're dirty words here. But it's far worse just a few miles from where I live in the neighboring state.... So I can't complain, makes for entertaining bar convos.

That's why I get all my news from www.creedthoughts.gov.www\creedthoughts

I googled it and found a site that seems to try to bring it to life.

@m3bassman if you get an LS wait for an aluminum block to pop up. They are common in the gen iv trucks. You have to do a little more prep on motor but the engine weighs 100lbs less and will prob run cooler I assume. Plus no rust.

They're also cheaper generally in the used market around here cause boosted guys won't touch em

Why? Don't they have ductile iron sleeves? All the Corvettes have Al blocks.

They do, they're excellent blocks, especially the LH6 and they have way stronger rods than the Gen 3. But I guess even when studded the alum deforms and they lose seal on the heads with repeated high boost use. But a mild boosted build or an NA builds, they're bomb and I'd much rather have one too. They're still easily 800hp territory safe. We put one in a buddy's 71 suburban and it's a real difference in how well it rides too.

Im building a gen 4 Al block. Most boost I will ever run is 15 psi though. Should make 900 ish to crank/650 ish to wheels with this new turbo. Mainly the weight and cooling is what want. Between the iron block and big ass 4l80 the truck is real hot in the tunnel. The big hole doesn't help but its def gonna be an issue if I don't do more shielding.

What is the proper way to adjust the drum brakes? The manual is extremely vague....

Dial them out until they very lightly drag on the drum. That's perfect. When you hear them just start scuffing they're set.

Thanks dude! There's usually some last minute action in the auctions so I am not too stressed yet. Wish it had more views, I thought we had a killer lead photo but we will find out soon enough. I think we will get a fair price in the end. Worse case, I loos a grand on it. Best case it makes more than we paid a couple years ago. I do think it was a mistake to sell it and keep the AMG. Cheaper to maintain, better on gas and way less miles. But damn I do like horsepower.
If I throw a V8 in it it would be to eventually through boost at it. I'll take the strength and cost of the iron block ;) for now it's a dream and one that may die life so many dreams we have. It does seem like I could do it, but I have to sacrifice my AMG to do it and idk of I can do that yet. 500hp daily is a treat.

I still think the lead photo is a stunner. (I also understand the bit of regret.) Last few hours seem to always be the most interesting so fingers crossed for ya.
