That's what I would do lest it be that your shop burns down due to some errant spark. Also, if you drop a tool, you'll be able to find it. Please keep your floor clean or Fire Marshall Bill will set you a citation.

I guess, I'd still be concerned about fire with the loose saw dust though, but that's just me. Especially once you start accumulating more and more tools, Hell, even loosing the greenhouse would suck due to something that I could've prevented. Bourbonmoth woodworking recently released a video about spontaneous combustion when using and disposing lacquer thinners and oil based stains on the YT. Fire would crawl across the floor with enough media to keep feeding the flames so to speak.

    Yikes!

I do keep all the liquids in another location and stain away from the area with the dust.

We have garters around the house that do the same. The chickens will eat them so we always move them away from the open areas so they have less chance of being spotted.. In their defense though if you had something comparably the size of a house picking you up you’d probably pee too.

Ok option 1: on half a log, the back is rounded. Possibly walnut, but not sure.
    20230418_123708.jpg

Option 2: a thin slab, irregular shape, definitely walnut.
    20230418_123718.jpg

Option 3: separated on 3 different pieces. (Sold separately? Or connect the pieces?)
