It was wet, muddy, and snowy, and cold. But we couldn't be happier! First pic is in Colorado, 2nd is in Utah.

Yes most towns city collect free and if you ask nicely will let you have the drum. Of if you see them dumped
grab the drum easy to remove.

What do you power your Starlink with? I have one I've thought about taking on trips with me.

I've got a 150w flexible solar panel from "Alrska" hooked up to a Bluetti ac50s battery bank. The panel is actually great, but the bluetti is pretty meh and I'm looking for a different battery solution going forward.

Even cloudy in March (which is when this trip was), we were able to get atleast 50-70W throughout the day, which was enough to keep the Starlink powered during daylight hours just fine (usually was pulling an indicated ~40W). At night, the only electricity we use is some LED strips.

I usually camp solo, so a flower pot works for me. I get the ones with hole drilled into the side bottoms, line it with tin foil, and away I go.
I have a small cast-iron grill for it and it cooks a steak or burger or dogs in no-time.
I use Royal-Oak lump coal in it and man it gets HOT HOT HOT so I have to be careful where I place it.

Awesome pics. Sorry to go off topic but where did you get that softopper rear attachment/enclosure. We’re tired of opening and closing the tailgate to get out . Thanks.

@bulalo That's the one. It is great! FYI, it was something like four months between when I ordered it and when I received it. I'm not sure if they do a couple batches a year or if there was a holdup at that time, but if you need it quickly I might contact them first to see the turnaround time.

    Dammit all to hell!

This site is costing me far too much!
I was kinda on the fence on getting one, but this thread put me over the top. I just ordered one.
It is made in the USA, so I am very happy about that at any rate.

If I had a short bed I would definitely get one. Looks like a good product. But with a long bed I don't really need it, and I'm trying to shrink down the amount of setup I have to do at the campsite. It's amazing how much stuff I was able to take out of the camping box when I went through everything a few weeks ago.

I have a long bed, the reason I got it was for the screen window. My softopper has no openings so having ventilation is important to me.

Great reason to get one. No argument here. But...

An old military pup-tent mosquito bar (net) hangs beautifully inside the Softopper from the framework (net has built-in nylon straps at every corner and down the middle). The net is long enough to reach the bed floor and thus will tuck under any mattress or bedding for complete protection. With one, you can go safari-mode and roll up the sides & rear of the Softopper for great circulation.
You just have to come up with alternatives to keep the rain out (there are many).

What this mosquito bar lacks and the Toppertent has, is an easy entry/exit "door".
No worries about simply lifting the rear part of the net to go under it, but that can be a pain if your hands are full (bear rifle in one hand and coffee cup in the other).
