There are several versions floating around. The one I got would likely have cut okay without massaging it. However, I redid the top 1/3 of the sign so I could fit the "Veales Bar" and the stars. I added the wing tips at the top too.

I have another copy of it where I just replaced their name with a larger font "Bar".

We need to see if we can get permission to share .dxf files in this thread.

@tcBob there are some of us in "Anything Welding" who are regularly discussing plasma cutting signs and the CAD files that are required to make them. We can't share the image files we use in our CAD programs.

Any chance we can get permission to upload .dxf file format info here? The file sizes are a lot smaller than a JPEG.

@koditten I think you may recognize the welding squares...

First time I really got a chance to use them.

I created a Dead sign last night and had time for a first cut. Still needs work, but getting there. Gonna improve the area just below the eyes.

back on mp3car when there were all sorts of firmwares/updates trading hands, we would just change the file type to .txt and warn anyone involved that it needed to be changed to the .'x' so the program it was intended for would read it.

Just got home from a week on the East coast and finally able to hang my new sign from @Wsidr1
It only felt right to hang next to my FXR fender above my tools. Sadly it was also the only free wall space I had. Yamaha tail section is just above it.

If you zoom in on the fender, you can see my bike and truck is the reflection. I painted that fender a few years back for my last bike.

Very cool - I am curious to hear how this works out for you. I'm more and more making little tools and would love to be able to do a little case hardening.... This is a whole rabbit hole I have yet to delve in to...

This rabbit hole, I know well. CONGRATULATIONS! Nothing like parenting.

case harding is something I want to try as well... once i got the door latch done an gasket installed it hit 1500f in 30 minutes an a measured current draw of 19amps per leg @1000f

Hopefully this weekend I can use it to actually heat treat something

In this episode of Flux Fiends, we fling flux ferociously at a cheap dog crate to justify buying the welder, and then stick it to the MAN and his high fencing prices!

    4 run, 2 don't
    Project idea - new gate

Some 3" or 4" square tube at the ends, and 3/4" square tube bars.

You can buy those cast ornamental pieces and weld those on top as you see fit.

a great way to overcomplicate things! i keep thinking of how i can rig an old garage door opener in the sealed garage 25' back to be a remote-motorized fence opener...

yeah, eventually i'll be getting/building a normal fence gate, most likely as parts and then will weld it up. but this was all of $30 for the 50' roll of snow fencing, conduit and hardware. at the very least, it's enough to keep the dog from terrorizing the neighborhood for the time being when i'm outside working on things, and is easily replaceable once he figures out how simple it is.

i originally added up the chain link and tubing i'd need for a basic fence. once it started topping out over $300, i started looking for more temporary alternatives. i just got official word i'm changing jobs, so the funds are currently being diverted to tooling changes first before diving into fun projects!

First set of sliders. I learned a lot about tube coping and ended up creating a homebrew 4th axis for the CNC plasma after hand cutting 90% of these parts.

I assume you mean the 4th axis... [warning: poor camera control]
