It's something I had questions about so it's worth sharing the information with some detail with others to hopefully make their work a little easier than mine lol

Thanks man! For now, yes. I do plan to change them out to rivnuts and stainless hardware to match.

Any chance you could measure the upper uniball bolts for me? wondering if MCM uses 5/8 or 1/2"

Also is the upper uniball the biggest factor in where you strapped and bumped travel or is there something else I'm not thinking about (other than lots of cutting and hammering)

Currently waiting on parts to fix my blown steering rack, so I decided to start working on the auxiliary wiring revamp that I've been meaning to start for awhile now. This is mostly just to satisfy my OCD, but I've always wanted to make the wiring in this truck a little more robust, easier to work with, and serviceable (if need be).

Currently, my plan is to mount everything where the passenger side airbag was to ensure that everything stays clean and out of the elements, plus one less things under the hood. I'll also be adding a second battery later on once I start wiring everything.

There must be something about wiring I enjoy. Otherwise I would not be on the 3rd or 4th (or whatever it is) version of wiring for my truck.

Yep. There's some oddly satisfying about good wiring. That or I'm sadistic and love something that most would hate lol

i Love good clean wiring .... i just have no patience while doing it so mine never look good or clean. haha. I'll make it 20% of the way thru the process and then give up and just get it done.

+1 on wiring zen. I take alot of pride putting harnesses together.
Thats where I put a few wiring bits for Methanol injection. I should make a whole panel like yours that looks clean.

No concern about have large amp lines coming into the truck? Possible consider putting the breaker in the engine bay?

Yea best practice is to have any kind of circuit protection closest to the battery

Yep. I've ordered too much wiring stuff not to make it look semi-professional at this point.

Nope. I've seen people run similar setups with no issues. Running the breaker to under the hood would be more of a hassle than I'd want it to be. I'm going to modify opening in the dash a little so I'll have a little more room.

The factory airbag cover unbolts from the airbag and snaps back into place so I'm just going to use that to keep it looking OEM.

    not to ruin your plan...

But as much as I love wiring anything and everything. The best damn thing I did for wiring a vehicle for shit like this was coughing up the dough for a Switchpro. Works awesome. Some great features. Super super clean to install and just so so much easier to do.

Would recommend. Would replace most of that stuff you have there. Granted, not as serviable. Also hella expensive. But after doing what your doing now. To going to Bussman stuff. Then switch pro. I don't think I'll go back.

No, you're definitely right about that. I came very close to forking up the money for a Switch Pros unit, but ultimately I can't justify that sort of money for it. Maybe in the next iteration of the wiring, or whenever I do an LS swap and build my own harness from scratch. :bananadead:
