Yes it's definitely over priced. $1065.88 plus tax of coarse.

I'm not mechanical and read it. I was intrigued but confused. Still am. Sounds like it's fixed though!!

I posted this a few years ago in 2014.

My front actuator broke. The ADD Automatic Differenial Disconnect. It felt like it was in 4wd because it would not disconnect.

But I had removed the motor when trying to diag what my problem was and caused myself more trouble. When I put it back on the rod was not in the correct orientation.

I’ve read , forms and form over and over .

And my 4x4 Hi still flashes . It won’t shift to 4wd .

Here’s what happened. I went to rattlesnake snake over the weekend . I got stuck . So I shifted to 4wd . Unfortunately, it didn’t shift . So I turned on and off the truck until it did . And did the same time to get back to 2wd .Then that’s when it started . Light kept flashing

But…….. transfer case I believe is stuck in 4hi , because the front driver shaft keeps spinning .

I switched both actuator with news ones . The only bad actuator I had was the transfer case actuator were water causes corrosion on it .

now , I read that the transfer case rod that goes into the actuator, is locked and won’t move . Is that true ???
and that the new actuator come differently timed

So do I need to timed the actuator to get it unstuck???
And is there a way to manually get it unstuck ???

really want to get the 4wd up and running for the snow

You can manually “Unstick it” if you are in a pinch.
But you really should read @Dm93 link above.
If you take the time to actually diagnose the problem, you can fix it.
And it’s all in the link Dm93 posted above.

FWIW, if you really need to get the transfer case out of 4WD.
Remove the actuator and push the rod all the way IN. All the way in is 2WD.

I know this thread is old but I can’t seem to find my answer… I gotta feeling like someone unhooked something strange but idk. I just bought this truck a week ago but haven’t been able to drive it much since the 4pm hi seems locked in.
What’s going on right now is
-green 4wd flashes all the time
-orange 4low flashes all the time
-front drive line is engages (doesn’t spin freely in neutral)
-when I attempt to use switch there is no change, nothing that’s goes on underneath… I checked front actuator plug the other day and I think what I found was the power wires for pin 1&2 was getting voltage the entire time which I’m not sure if that’s where the problem is.. if someone wants to help out that would be sweet haha

Check your limit switch voltages as outlined in the thread below and post your results so we can see what part of the system is having an issue.

You mean the 2 pressure switch looking things near the actuator on the transfer case? I got a ground and a 11.5 on both switches, that’s with the engine off and accessories on
    Thanks for your reply

No you need to check things at the 4wd ECU behind the glovebox with everything plugged in, we need to see which limit switch(s) are out of range.

Anything I should specifically look at? It seems like the switch isn’t doing anything, between switching between 2 and 4l and 4h there is no actuator noises at all. I’m gonna go outside and check what your telling me at my next break (I’m in a work class but we get breaks every 30 minutes) lol

I am gonna only be able to get one reading though since the 4wd switch doesn’t seem to be doing anything. At least from what I can tell

Once the system detects a fault it locks out until the fault clears or power is cycled.

Since the lights flash all the time the readings in 2H should tell us what we need to know.

I got them as follows, switch doesn’t seem to be working since I can’t hear the actuators make any noise under truck. Right now switch says it’s in 2wd but the lights on dash are flashing

    TL1 12V
    TL2 ground
    TL3 12v
    4WD 11.5v
    L4 11.5v
    DL1 11.5v
    DL2 11.5v
    ADD ground
    2-4 ground
    LO 11.8v

Looks like we may have an issue in both the Transfer Case Actuator and ADD, the transfer case limit switches show it's in 4wd but the 4wd detection switch indicates the transfer case is in 2wd.
Also both DL1 and DL2 are open (12v), only 1 of them should be open at a time depending on the position of the ADD Actuator.

What events led up to this issue happening.
