18 Sport. Thinking of pulling the trigger on XBs rather than BHLM. By the time I opt for quads and better DRLs and such ill exceed the cost of XBs. Thoughts?

I have the morimoto amber xb's and love them. Literal night and day difference going from halogen projectors to LEDs. They're great quality too. OEM LEDs are great too, you'll just need a wiring harness to make them work correctly. Morimotos include an adapter and are plug and play on my 2018.

I want Amber on my BBP to compliment my LaminX yellow film on OEM fogs and Bronze wheels.

So it's $1421.55 OTD direct from Morimoto. FYI, 10% discount code "TAXREBATE"

How does the OEM trade in work? Do they just credit my CC once they receive them? Curious what they will give me for 18s? Good condition.

Oof… that’s a hundred or so less than oem led shipped from sparks.
You’ve read the stickied lighting thread and are dead set on these?
To each their own, but I wouldn’t get rid of my stock halogens AND buy morimotos. You know what they say about opinions though

I will assume not and suggest doing so. Also read the fog stickie while you're diving.
There is some amazing information on lighting upgrades in there that may sway your decision.
Even if you don't change your mind, It's a good read either way!

The cost is hard to justify I know! As for the OEM LEDs, no Amber DRL and that damn chrome! Headlights are last remaining item on chrome delete list...

Performance>aesthetics. If they were cheaper and had a pretty color that I preferred I might be swayed, but at the same price as oem I wasn’t sold.
Pro models supposedly aren’t chrome. I haven’t seen them in person

Again it’s your decision. Just sharing info on the oem and my opinion

You can get ambers and no chrome. You just need to cut them.
It is quite a bit more to bite off though. You aren't wrong.

I opted todo an rx350 retrofit with bhlm. Personal preference for me(there is some data behind this but its a lot of reading and research in this thread), I prefer the throw of HIDs versus LEDs. Plus me being a bit old school, I don't like the enclosed sealed ecosystem that exist with 100% led headlights....and it is more unique then any of the LED renditions. No hate, I think they look dope. The added bonus of a retrofit costing me only 800.00ish in parts and a few hours of elbow grease was more satisfying to me.

That’s what everyone around here says.
I got mine on a Memorial Day sale from a different dealership for 1.15k shipped from FL to AK.
Online dealership parts sites usually have 15-25% off sales on national holidays and include “free shipping” ($200 shipping credit in my case)

I agree...performance outweighs aesthetics, with that said the XBs will certainly outperform my halogens and are no contest aesthetically.

Not with H9s installed, but I digress. To each their own and whatever sparks joy. All that.
I’m sure you’ll be very happy them

I just read a dozen or more posts on XB issues related to wiring, fuse, cutoff, alignment, fitment, operation and whatever else. Leaning back towards getting a custom set from @no vtec 4me

I have two custom sets and couldn't support the decision more! Amazing work and support.
Lights from him arrive in better condition than they do shipped from the dealer. Man not only makes great mods but knows how to pack a box.

I used hidprojector.com's led retrofit kit on my previous rig and had fantastic light output.....in the city. Then when I got to the woods in the dark or those long before dawn hauls to get up to the mountains before first light; the throw was shit. Bright as fuck for what felt like only 20 feet out. That's when I knew zenon is the only way to go for me.

..and for the haters lol. I do adjust my aim downward in correction for my lift and tires.

No hate from me tho, I was thiiiiiiis close to oem less but what really got me is the cost savings I could put into other mods and ultimately the throw was the crux.

I went with Morimoto XBs courtesy of Colton @memario1214 (top notch service!). I would like the OEM but I am also very happy with my choice. Note that I am located in Canada, and it's notoriously difficult and expensive to get the OEM LEDs here. Dave won't ship to Canada anymore, so would be hard to get a proper wiring harness (note that this is also a hidden cost with OEM LEDs as well).

    339780626_191189683679524_22646039918439_517993b4a1e30f9406bf3cb166f031786d226d95.jpg

I can note of the fitment issues, but I also noticed that this is present with OEM LED or Halogen assemblies as well so this seems like a wash. No issues with wiring, fuse, alignment, operations and whatever else noted.
