I grew up in a family corner store. Not only did we have cashiers, the registers had physical keys with pull down levers. Something like this …

I was sent two! One at my current address, the other at my previous address which I left over a year prior. Thankfully, both made it to me!

I remembered the first time I used a Sunoco pump and it had like 5 different grades of gasoline you could buy by flipping the lever around.

I think the blue Sunoco was like 108 octane.

I was filling the tank on my grandpa’s Dodge when we visited him in New York.

Gasoline tasted much better when it still had lead in it too.

    And the envelope! :puke:

Remember the "stories" of people cutting their tongue on the envelope and then finding out they had spider/cockroach eggs growing inside the cut?

There's two more verses to this not in the theme song. Funny, this was decades ago and really hits home now (I mean really REALLY LOL)

    People seemed to be content
    fifty dollars paid the rent
freaks were in a circus tent
    Those were the days
    Take a little Sunday spin
go to watch the Dodgers win
    Have yourself a dandy day
that cost you under a fin
Hair was short and skirts were long
Kate Smith really sold a song
I don't know just what went wrong
    those were the days

    LoL
Mine told me to tape the coins to an index card before sending for freebies from the comics.
But the first time I sent a lot of loose change, I guess the mailman took care of me cuz I got the junk stuff from Flushing, NY!

Ok, I haven't searched the internerd yet but there was a shirt in the late 80's - 90's that would change temp based on your core temp. I cannot remember the name of them.

They were all the rage until you saw some sweat dude...

I think they were call mood shirts, kinda like the mood rings that changed color as to your body temp.
