I want the new G47....that's basically the "compact" version of the slimline. You can run a G17 and G19 slide on that frame.

Yeah, like I said peoples interest have changed from what they were a few years ago. Nothing wrong with riding forest roads I still ride them too, lol. I ride easier trails with a few jeep guys now too. I was just referring to the statement about not being as active in here as it use to be. It didn't die down because of the issues between you and Scotty, peoples interest just changed. Nothing wrong with liking different things, thats what makes the world a interesting place. There was people in here and a few still are that don't offroad at all. All I was saying is it use to be more active in here when there was a lot of people having mod days and riding trails a couple times a month. I realize not everyone wants to ride the hard trails and not everyone wants to spend money on trucks. Just don't think that the couple of perma bans a while back caused the forum interest to change, I think it's like you just said peoples lives change and so do their interest, it will come back around one day until then I'll just keep checking back in to see.

Yea interests change but I’ve been doing multi day rides to some pretty great places for years now. I always invite everyone in here. Always do what ppl feel comfortable doing. Most of time it’s same ppl who go on the trips. I like to do the whole camping and ride thing together. I think it’s just different personalities in here now and ppl not as familiar with each other like you said not going on as many rides and meeting each other so ppl might lose interest. Seems like the ppl who stuck around are the ppl who normally engage in thread and go on rides camping trips etc. I’d be more than happy to host mid days but I Amit got no room at my house (I live in a townhouse) so I just don’t think many ppl that interested in modifying trucks past a lift and slightly bigger tires. I know most in here dd their trucks. Most of the guys years back had a 2nd or 3rd car. Those who didn’t didn’t mind spending money on a truck to fix it and I think that’s where the personalities have changed in here. Still love the thread just different. Would love to see some newer guys out on the trails camping and riding some moderate trails. Fix that 1st gen up and come to DBBB with us camp out.

What is DBBB? I was hoping to have been working on my 1st gen by now. I miss being able to drive long distance and offroad in the same truck. I am still working on my other Samurai and it is eating up all my spare change. I want to get the Samurai going so my son can ride with me. I may get a good set of tire for the 1st gen and do some camping rides with you all.

Daniel Boone backcountry byway. You can read about it here. It’s awesome. Lots of really good fun trails. Free to the public. They keep expanding on it and opening new sections next month. I’m going Memorial Day weekend with a few others. Tyler and Preston. I’ve been a couple of times. Reminds me a little of coppinger a in sections.

Speaking of, went from 31.7’s to 33.1’s today. Feels good

A kid??? Oh shit that’s awesome:D I enjoy both, usually down for any ride. I went to hawks pride with my gf a few weeks ago and it was fun. But I think I prefer the more soft stuff with hard obstacles along the way. Something like DBBB or Croton Road, UT is exactly what I look for

It’s similar, Tons of trails. I’ve got a lot of them marked from the last time I was there.

Thats my problem right now. I really want bumpers, skids, sliders and gears but cant justify it right now with 2 kids. I mean we just went and registered for next years daycare for our youngest and they went up to $450 a month just for 3 days a week thats $150 more than this year. Its insane the amount of money kids cost  Given it is 110% worth every penny if not more.

Even if I did have all the stuff for the truck and then broke it one weekend, None of our spare vehicles can accommodate 2 car seats so there is that. Now could I cobble together a dedicated trail rig from parts / vehicles I have laying around? Yes. but do I have the time to do that? Not with 2 kids

Congrats on the kid Brain. Nothing beats being a dad, Its def a life style adjustment but nothing comes close to the joy they bring.

    From AlabamaWX

WARM, DRY WEATHER CONTINUES: Today will be another sunny, warm day for Alabama with highs in the mid 80s this afternoon, almost ten degrees above average for mid to late April.

The sky will be partly sunny tomorrow with a high around 80; clouds will increase by late afternoon, and showers will enter the northwest counties of the state by late afternoon ahead of a cold front. Showers and few thunderstorms are likely statewide tomorrow night; severe storms are not expected due to the lack of instability and weak dynamic support. Rain amounts for most communities will be 1/2 inch or less.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: It now looks like the showers will be out of the state for the most part by 6:00 a.m. Saturday. The sky becomes partly to mostly sunny during the day with a high not too far from 70 degrees. Sunday will feature a good supply of sunshine with a high in the 65-75 degree range after a morning low in the 40s.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be dry with a high close to 70, then the weather turns unsettled for the rest of the week with some risk of showers and storms on daily basis. For now severe thunderstorms are not expected, and highs through the week will remain close to 70 degrees, which is below average for late April. See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1920: An F4 tornado touched town near Bradley in Oktibbeha County, MS. It (or other tornadoes produced by the same storm) would remain on the ground 130 miles all the way across Marion, Franklin, Colbert and into Lawrence Counties in Alabama. Seven people died near Starkville and twenty two died on the west side of Aberdeen. A total of 20 people perished in Marion County, including nine at Bexar. Nineteen people died at Waco in Franklin County, including nine from one family. There were also four deaths in Colbert County and one in Lawrence County.

A total of 44 souls lost their lives with this killer in the state, making it the fourth deadliest tornado in Alabama history (behind the EF4 Tuscaloosa to Birmingham tornado and the EF5 Hackleburg-Phil Campbell tornado, both on April 27, 2011, and the F4 Marion to Jemison tornado on March 21, 1932)

No, I spent a lot of time in Guntersville growing up and I still call it local, I guess it isn't really local but it still feels like it to me.
