Thanks. Was nice to eventually get to the correct person who could actually research and acknowledge the issue in addition to getting me a good one.

 

It's my livelihood, the hassle was warranted and was worth it.

 

but always sad how far things need to go to get to that point.

 

Seems like once I got out of the "system". System being the standard Customer Service/Warranty/Repair service ticket process, things moved along nicely. That process obviously works for the vast majority of issues.

I don't have an open service ticket with this latest saw. It was sent directly by one of their technical advisors with input from an Engineer. They personally emailed me the tracking info and emailed me once they received defective saw #3. I responded today with the good news on saw #4 and asked them to inform me what they find wrong with #3.

Hopefully something good comes from all of this.

Great deal! I'd be all over that if I didn't already own it. That saw really does better with the 12Ah battery.

 

I finally caved and ordered the mower, I got the combo that comes with the M12 hedge trimmer. Updates to come once it arrives. This thing better be worth the price of entry!

 

Prepare to be disappointed.

 

@Sig45 I tried out the display model saw today at Home Depot. My gosh the slide was terrible! You weren’t kidding it was like a lot of loose bb’s as the bearings

 

Anyone have experience with the 18 or 12 volt jigsaw? How do they compare to corded? I have both batteries, just wonder which would be better to work with?

 

They're out there! Glad you were able to see/feel what I had been dealing with.

I'm still waiting to hear from the Service Tech and the Engineer on their findings.

 

I have and use the M12 fairly often. It's handled everything just fine. One thing I've noticed is that you can't turn too sharp/quick or the blade will flex a little and the cut won't be a clean 90 degrees. I compared the blade guide/retention device to that of my old corded Bosch jig saw and it's easy to see how it could flex a little when some pressure is applied on a tight turn.

I'm considering the M18 barrel jigsaw.

 

I have the M12 and it works just fine. I don't miss anything over the corded jigsaws I have used, I don't expect to make super precise cuts with a jigsaw.

 

I went ahead and ordered the m18 jigsaw. Along with a couple new 6.0 batteries. And the m12 installation tool, lol. The saw I figure will get used in the shop more than in the field where I would appreciate the smaller size of the m12. The install tool will help a lot when I am up on a ladder installing eve vents. Never room for a drill or driver with the overhang. I also grabbed the m12 nibbler last week for cutting expanded metal. That thing kicks ass. Why didnt I buy one of those years ago?

Buy more Save more in the app has a glitch. Still sorting it out exactly but I have two outdoor equipment items in my cart that don’t total $550 or more ( they total $538) and it’s giving me $180 off.

I might see what else it works with.

 

And therein lies the entire problem with the newest (bad) marketing of Milwaukee tools.

We used to get two decent size batteries with a set of tools, and at least one decent size battery with a single tool. Now we are sold the minimal batteries that last short times and need a recharge. Of course the good, long lasting batteries that are actually useful can be had at the amazingly low cost of $200 (or more) a pair... and then we can keep the low capacity batteries weighing down our tool bag or gathering dust and unlikely to be used. WTF! What a waste of precious and expensive lithium and other heavy metals, building batteries of little use and creating a market for even more batteries. The beancounters strike again.

 

Turns out both items were on Spring Black Friday with $40 of their MSRP, but still get the buy more save more so they sit in the $100 off category area for Buy more Save more and it’s compounded so the M18 hatchet and the m18 leaf blower you can get the pair for $358.
