I mean it is horrible, but don’t mind it since most of Toyota’s vehicles are hard to look at. Of all the ugly Toyota vehicles, it is one of the prettier ones of the ugly. Still ugly though….Tundra looks like it is trying too hard, where as the new GMs, have the same blocky styling but do it better.

Tundra has a good side profile, however has a butter face…

Really like Silverados. The new 2500 ZR2….dayum! They finally fixed that awful frontend, are you listening Tundra? The Lego style side mirrors are a bit doofy though.

My buddy is an automotive engineer. He had the 5 cyl Colorado and seemed to like it. I rode in it a few times. Seemed to have enough power. However, he takes great care of his vehicles so its hard to judge any vehicle he drives for reliability.

Its from a screen grab that was posted here a year or so ago. No idea if it is accurate or not.

Here is the full shot. I guess the Tundra info could be looked at to see how that panned out and maybe get a feel for it.

me too. Since I tend to go for the dirt bag poverty trims. Of course even the poverty model is expensive these days.

Right there with ya. On my OR, the only options I got were mudflaps and a chrome exhaust tip lol. And towing package I guess. I got it cheaper than what SR5's were going for at the time.

I'll probably go even further down market on my next truck depending on options and cost I guess. I just don't have it in me to spend more than I want too.

Video of the Colorado Trail Boss. Looks like a decent truck for $41K. I don’t know why in 2023 it wouldn’t come with a spray in bed liner though. The epa fuel mileage is also terrible at 17 & 19.

While not cheap by any means, my SR has more options on it than my 1st Gen TRD, which was darn near top of the line way back when. Given inflation over the years, still a pretty good deal, think it MSRP for $33K, the 1999 1st Gen was $22.5K, so not too terrible in the grand scheme of things. Think most of us old timers dwell on “back in my day it used to cost this!” while in today’s reality it isn’t too-too bad. Most of the OTD extra expenses on the 3G were extended warranty and taxes. Bought the extended warranty because I don’t trust the new Toyotas like I did the old, plus more expensive to fix these days. Had to put a new windshield in already, $850, where my 1G is $150.

Why I don’t have high hopes for mpg on the new Taco.

Mine was getting a solid 24 HWY, but me being a dude, had to toss on bigger tires, now it is 20-21. In town commuting is 18.5.

That is a good looking truck, unfortunate no extra cab 6’ bed. GM could have lured me over to the dark side, that DCSB is a deal killer.

No tailgate dampener or spray in bed liner, that is bullshit. Thought the tailgate dampener was lame at first until I use my 1st Gen, forget and it slams down. Even my wife likes the tailgate on the 3G better.

No auto HVAC??? Even my SR has that.

Yeah this is me lol. I just haven't synced up to the idea of a 50-60k midsize truck, really any truck if I am honest. I get it's not the old days, but I just can't do it.

41.4k for a truck with no cruise, no bedliner, no heated mirrors and halogen lights is a hard no for me. The lack of a power slider and 18 MPG combined puts the nail in that idea.

It looks good though. I'd probably go Z71 and get the interior bits I want and do the lift and wheels later. I do like the trailer towing package though. Andre also got the motor the way I would.

I don't think those specs are out yet. CR has these powertrains listed. I'm thinking the Tacoma will also get the 6 speed transmission.

It’s strange to me that they cheap on pretty basic features. I thought the Trail Boss was considered one of the nicer trim packages. No idea why the gas mileage is so terrible with a small engine. That’s almost as bad as my second gen. I have no heated mirrors on my truck too and it sucks. Even my XJ I had before the Tacoma (14 years older) had heated mirrors.

The trailboss is just a WT with a lift. Part of the reason I would go Z71 and add my own lift and such.

Heated mirrors are standard on current Tacoma's, I expect that to carry over.

Non dampened tailgate would bug me as well.

I like the Maverick a lot, I hope Toyota sees the success that it has been, and goes that direction rather than the direction of the Santa Cruz, styling wise.
