Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for the opinions and advice on this platform but I am making a switch. This weekend I will be selling my Tacoma and moving up to a Tundra. Wish me luck!

    New Tundra?

What made you choose the Tundra over the three domestic options, and Titan?

I'd like to ask every new Tundra driver this question.

If you just like Toyota over other manufacturers that sums it up. I'd like to know why Tundra? Ford offers three different cab configuration regular cab, super cab with traditional suicide rear doors, and super crew. Many more options but it's Ford.

GM does offer the regular cab, and the other two options are same as Tundra.

Dodge offers the same cab configurations as GM. Nissan has king and crew cabs, also comparable to Tundra.

Lack of configurations and price puts Tundra in weird spot for me when comparing 1/2 ton trucks. If you want a 2nd gen Tundra with the 5.7 V8 that makes a 1/2 ton of sense to me.

    Congratulations on the new Tundra.

Plus, the domestics still offer a V8. I don’t know about the new 6-lug Tundra, but the outgoing 5.7L 5-lugger was a great truck. Bulletproof engine and everything under there (bearings, axles, etc.) was 3/4 ton size.

I think it’s a great choice. Good luck!

I'm curious why a new Tundra and not an 05. The first gen Tundra isn't much bigger than the 2nd gen Tacoma. The ideal truck size imo.

Doesn't a 3/4 ton truck have full floating axles?

If I get better than 14mpg ill be happy... I don't see that happening but hey, you gotta pay to play... I'm getting 12-14mpg in my Tacoma on 33" AT tires... So not much of a change, just a whole lot more power!
